Lolito Go (born July 21, 1985) is a Filipino poet [1] and a songwriter. [2]

In May 2023, he was involved in a controversy with fellow music artist Moira Dela Torre over cheating allegations [3] and ghostwriting issues. [4]

Career

Go got his first nationwide exposure in 2016 for a composition addressing extrajudicial killings. [5]

In 2017, Go gained recognition for composing and playing the ukulele music for Titibo-Tibo , written by his spouse Libertine Amistoso, which won the grand prize at Himig Handog, a national songwriting competition in the Philippines. [6] [7]


In 2019, Go wrote Pahinga performed by Moira dela Torre for her Paalam album, and participated in the PhilPop Songwriting Bootcamp as a sponsored fellow. His composition Balikan performed by Benj Manalo, was a finalist in the 2020 Philippine Popular Music Festival (PhilPop) and won the People's Choice Award. [8]

In 2021, Go released Soldier in White, dedicated to medical frontliners during the COVID-19 pandemic, which was later recorded by Garrett Bolden of GMA Music. [9] He also wrote the debut single of Tiktok Influencer Meiko Montefalco in the same year. [10]

In 2022, he wrote Quaranfling for Ken Chan and My Miracle for XOXO. The latter became the theme song for the Tagalized Korean drama Another Ms. Oh on GMA Network. [11]

In 2022, Go also contributed to political campaigns, co-writing with Moira dela Torre one of the campaign songs for former vice president Leni Robredo. [12]

In 2024, his wedding song He Knows, performed by Almira Lat, was released on streaming platforms.

The Philippine Popular Music Festival is an annual songwriting competition organized by the Philpop MusicFest Foundation and was launched in 2012. The creation of the festival was inspired by the defunct Metro Manila Popular Music Festival. The foundation itself is headed by the chairman Manny V. Pangilinan, executive director Ryan Cayabyab and administrator and communications director Patricia Bermudez-Hizon. The song was written and composed by Jungee Marcelo. It was included on the 2013 compilation album Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs. The digital album was made available for download on mymusicstore.com.ph on January 8, 2013, while on iTunes and Amazon on January 11. The physical album was released on January 17. The acoustic version was later included on his first studio album DJP and Best of ABS-CBN Summer Songs. The music video of the song was released on February 4, 2013.

Filipino singer-songwriter Moira Dela Torre has released three studio albums, one extended play (EPs), seventeen singles and nine music videos. She is the most streamed Filipino artist on Spotify history. Her debut album "Malaya" became the best-selling and most streamed album of 2018 in the Philippines. She is the only female OPM artist with the most digital platinum certifications (11). Her sophomore album "Patawad" was also a commercial success, achieving Platinum status the same year.

"Titibo-Tibo" (transl. Boyish) is a song recorded by Filipino singer Moira Dela Torre for her debut studio album Malaya. It was composed by Libertine Amistoso and it is only interpreted by Moira. The song won at the competition Himig Handog 2017 at the end of November held on ASAP. It was released for digital download and streaming on February 18, 2018, through Star Music. This song also topped that charts for 2 weeks on the Philippine Hot 100.
