Dream Theater is an American progressive metal band formed in 1985 under the name Majesty by John Petrucci, John Myung and Mike Portnoy while they attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. They subsequently dropped out of their studies to concentrate further on the band that would eventually become Dream Theater. Though a number of lineup changes followed, the three original members remained together until September 8, 2010, when Portnoy left the band and he was replaced several months later by Mike Mangini. James LaBrie has been the lead singer of Dream Theater since 1991, replacing Charlie Dominici who had left the band two years earlier. Dream Theater's first keyboardist, Kevin Moore, left the band after three albums and was replaced by Derek Sherinian in 1995 after a period of touring. After one album with Sherinian, the band replaced him with current keyboardist Jordan Rudess in 1999.
The Electric Prunes are an American psychedelic rock band, formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1965. Much of the band's music was, as music historian Richie Unterberger described it, possessed of "an eerie and sometimes anguished ambiance", and, early on, mainly consisted of material by songwriters Annette Tucker and Nancie Mantz, though the group also penned their own songs. Incorporating psychedelia and elements of embryonic electronic rock, the band's sound was marked by innovative recording techniques with fuzz-toned guitars and oscillating sound effects. In addition, guitarist Ken Williams' and singer James Lowe's concept of "free-form garage music" provided the band with a richer sonic palette and exploratory lyrical structure than many of their contemporaries.

...nothing but a dream is a studio album recorded by Australian singer-songwriter, Paul Kelly. It was released on 13 August 2001 via EMI Records, which peaked at No. 7 on the ARIA Albums Chart and No. 46 on the Official New Zealand Music Chart. It was also released in the United States on Cooking Vinyl and included four tracks from Kelly's earlier extended play, Roll on Summer (2000). In Australia and New Zealand the album provided three singles, "Somewhere in the City", "Love Is the Law" (October) and "If I Could Start Today Again".

Bent Out of Shape is the seventh studio album released by the British hard rock band Rainbow. It was originally released in August 1983 as an LP and cassette. The cassette featured several longer edits compared to the vinyl version. It was recorded at Sweet Silence Studios in Copenhagen in about 7 weeks.

Stupid Dream is the fifth studio album by British progressive rock band Porcupine Tree. It was first released in March 1999, and then re-released on 15 May 2006 due to the band's rising popularity on major record label Lava Records with their releases of In Absentia in 2002 and Deadwing in 2005. The album, along with Lightbulb Sun in 2000, represented a transitional period for the band, moving away from the band's earlier work in instrumental and psychedelic music, but before they took a more metal direction in 2002 onwards. The album takes a commercially accessible pop rock sound while still retaining heavy progressive rock influences.

"Free Your Mind" is a song by American female group En Vogue. Released on September 24, 1992, "Free Your Mind" is the third single released from their critically acclaimed hit album Funky Divas. The anti-prejudice song became a Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and a Top 20 hit on the UK Singles Chart. Billboard named the song No. 41 on their list of 100 Greatest Girl Group Songs of All Time. The track was recorded between December 1991 – January 1992, composed and produced by Foster and McElroy. The guitar and bass tracks for the song were written and recorded by San Francisco-based guitarist Jinx Jones. The opening line: "Prejudice, wrote a song about it. Like to hear it? Here it go!", is adapted from a line originally used by David Alan Grier's character Calhoun Tubbs from Fox's In Living Color. An alternative version of the song with different lyrics appears on the 1992 Summer Olympics compilation album Barcelona Gold.

"Make You Happy" is a song by Canadian recording artist Celine Dion, taken from her fourth English-language studio album, Falling into You (1996). Written by Andy Marvel and produced by Ric Wake, "Make You Happy" is a "bouncy" pop song, with influences of reggae and funk. Lyrically, the song talks about Dion pleading someone for commitment in a relationship. "Make You Happy" was released as a promotional single from the album in 1997 in Brazil. Critics commended the song for its catchiness.
"Suburban Knights" is the first single from British rock band Hard-Fi's second studio album Once Upon a Time in the West. The physical format of the single was released on 20 August 2007, the digital version was released on 6 August 2007. It reached #7 on 26 August 2007, becoming the band's most successful single in the UK Charts.
"Love on Top of Love" is a song by Grace Jones released in 1989 as the first single from Jones' ninth studio album Bulletproof Heart.
"Across the Universe" is a song by British singer-songwriter Holly Johnson, which was released in 1991 as the second single from his second studio album Dreams That Money Can't Buy. The song was written by Johnson and produced by Andy Richards. "Across the Universe" reached No. 99 in the UK Singles Chart. The single was released with the non-LP track "Funky Paradise" as the B-side.
"The People Want to Dance" is a single from former Frankie Goes to Hollywood singer Holly Johnson, taken as the third and final single from his 1991 album Dreams That Money Can't Buy. The track would be Johnson's last release until 1994.
"Cheater" is a song written by Michael Jackson and Greg Phillinganes and was originally slated to appear on Jackson's seventh studio album, Bad (1987), but it was removed from the track listing for unknown reasons.
Live at the 'It Club' is a live album by Gene Harris and The Three Sounds which was recorded in California in 1970 but not released on the Blue Note label until 1996.
