Lorenzo Lodici (born 16 April 2000) is an Italian chess grandmaster. He is an Italian Champion in 2018 and winner of chess' Mitropa Cup in 2021. He represented the Italian Team at Chess Olympiads in 2022 [1] and 2024, [2] and at Online Chess Olympiads in 2020. [3]
Lodici was born in Brescia, but he grew up in Chioggia, a town near Venice. [4] After gaining the title of International Master in 2016, he won the Italian Junior Championship in Cosenza in 2017.
In 2018, he won the Italian Chess Championship for the first time in Salerno, defeating the Grandmaster Alberto David in the play-offs by 2-0. [5] Here he earned the first Grandmaster norm.
In 2021, he got the other two norms, gaining the Grandmaster title. The first at the Festival Holiday La Marca Open in Villorba in June, [6] the second at Italian Team Chess Championship in Montesilvano in September. [7] In April he won the Mitropa Cup with the Italian Team, playing in reserve board. He scored 4.5 out of 7 points.
In 2022, he participated at his first Chess Olympiad in Chennai, where he obtained the 19th performance rating in 3rd board, [8] defeating the Norwegian Super GM Jon Ludvig Hammer and drawing against the Indian child prodigy R Praggnanandhaa.
In 2024, at his second Chess Olympiad, he defeated Super GMs Anish Giri and Peter Leko. [2]
Pia Ann Rosa-Della Cramling is a Swedish chess grandmaster. Since the early 1980s, she has been one of the strongest female players in the world as well as having been the highest-rated woman in the FIDE World Rankings on three occasions. She was the clear number-one-rated woman in the January 1984 rating list, and joint number-one-rated woman in the January 1983 and July 1984 lists. In 1992, she became the fifth woman to earn the FIDE title of Grandmaster (GM).

Harika Dronavalli is an Indian chess player who holds the FIDE title of Grandmaster (GM). She was part of the gold winning women's team at the 45th Chess Olympiad in 2024. She has won three bronze medals in the Women's World Chess Championship, in 2012, 2015 and 2017. Harika was honored with the Arjuna Award for the year 2007–08 by the government of India. In 2016, she won the FIDE Women's Grand Prix event at Chengdu, China and rose up from world no. 11 to world no. 5 in FIDE women's ranking. In 2019, she was awarded the Padma Shri for her contributions towards the field of sports.
Daniele Vocaturo is an Italian chess player who holds the FIDE title of Grandmaster. He is the No. 1 ranked Italian player as of August 2023, as has been since May 2016.
Vidit Santosh Gujrathi is an Indian chess grandmaster. He is a double gold medalist at the Olympiad. He is also a silver medalist at the Asian Games. Gujrathi attained the title of grandmaster in January 2013, becoming the 30th player from India to do so. He is the fourth Indian player to have crossed the Elo rating of 2700. He became the third Indian to qualify for the Candidates tournament by winning Grand Swiss 2023.
Nihal Sarin is an Indian chess grandmaster and chess prodigy. In 2018, he passed the Elo rating of 2600 at 14 years old, which at the time made him the third youngest player in history to do so.
Musunuri Rohit Lalit Babu is an Indian chess player. He was awarded the title of Grandmaster by FIDE in 2012. He is the 4th GrandMaster from Andhra Pradesh, part of the team that won India's first bronze medal in the 41st Chess Olympiad in 2014, Commonwealth gold medalist, Asian silver medalist, won the Indian Chess Championship in 2017, and Limca Book record holder. He has won 20 individual gold, 15 individual silver and 14 individual bronze medals in National as well as international tournaments.

He is also the youngest Candidates Tournament winner and the youngest contender to compete for the World Championship.
