Shibu Soren is an Indian politician who is currently member of Rajya Sabha representing Jharkhand and the leader of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. He formerly served as 3rd Chief Minister of Jharkhand,first in 2005 for 10 days,then from 2008 to 2009 and again from 2009 to 2010. He is also the President of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) political party,a constituent of the INDIA Alliance. He was the member of Lok Sabha from Dumka from 1980 to 1984,1989 to 1998 and from 2002 to 2019 and Minister for Coal in the Union Cabinet from 2004 to 2004,2004 to 2005 and from 2006 to 2006,when a Delhi district court found him guilty in the murder of his private secretary Shashi Nath Jha in 1994. He has also been indicted in the past on other criminal charges.

He also served as the 5th Chief Minister of Jharkhand from 2019 to 2024 and from 2013 to 2014. He is also the working president of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha,a political party in Jharkhand. He represents Barhait constituency in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly since 2014 and has represented Dumka twice —from 2019 to 2020,and from 2009 to 2014. The 2009 Jharkhand Legislative Assembly election resulted in a fragmented assembly,with no single party achieving a clear majority. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) each secured 18 seats,while the Indian National Congress won 14 seats. The Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) (JVM-P) obtained 11 seats,and several smaller parties,including the All Jharkhand Students’Union (AJSU) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD),captured a few seats as well.
Haji Hussain Ansari was an Indian politician and a leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). He served as Minister of Minority Welfare and Registration Department in the Government of Jharkhand since 28 January 2020. Ansari was the first and only Muslim to become minister in the state of Jharkhand.
