Louise Shanahan (born 26 January 1997) is an Irish athlete. [2] [3] She competed in the women's 800 metres event at the 2020 Summer Olympics. [4]
Shanahan was born in Cork, Ireland, a child of Liz and Ray Shanahan. [5] When she was growing up, Shanahan's father was her coach, until she moved to England. [6] Her father was also an Irish national champion in the 1500 meters, [7] making them the first father and daughter to become national champions in Ireland in that event. [8]
Shanahan obtained a BSc degree in physics from the University College Cork (Cork, Ireland) in 2019. [9] At the moment, she is completing a PhD in physics at Trinity College, Cambridge. [10]
In 2013, Shanahan became the European Youth Champion in the 800 metres. [11] However, after breaking a bone in her foot in 2015, she struggled to maintain her form. [11] Despite this, she was the Irish 1500m champion in 2021. [6]
From February 2021, she began to improve her performances in an attempt to take part in the delayed 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, after the World Student Games were cancelled. [11] She made the qualification for the Ireland Olympic team following results in Europe ahead of the Games. [11] At the beginning of 2021, she had targeted a place at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. [12] [6]

Marie-Amélie Le Fur she is a French Paralympic athlete from Vendôme, Centre Region, competing in T44 sprint and F44 long jump events. Her left leg was amputated below the knee following a motor scooter accident in 2004. Before she lost her leg, she was a French junior running champion. As of 2023, Le Fur is the President of the French Paralympic and Sports Committee.

Madison de Rozario, is an Australian Paralympic athlete and wheelchair racer who specialises in middle and long-distance events. She competed at the 2008 Beijing, 2012 London, 2016 Rio, 2020 Tokyo and 2024 Paris Paralympics, winning two gold, four silver and two bronze medals. She has also won ten medals at the World Para Athletics Championships and four gold at the Commonwealth Games. De Rozario holds the world record in the Women's 800m T53 and formerly in the Women's 1500m T53/54.
Angela Ballard is an Australian Paralympic athlete who competes in T53 wheelchair sprint events. She became a paraplegic at age 7 due to a car accident.

Halimah Nakaayi is a Ugandan middle-distance runner who specialises in the 800 metres. She is the 2019 World Champion at the event and won the bronze medal at the 2022 World Indoor Championships. Nakaayi is the current Ugandan record holder for the 800 m both outdoors and indoors, and also for the 1000 metres.

She came fifth in her individual event in her heat and was eliminated. As a member of the team of Ellie Beer, Kendra Hubbard and Annaliese Rubie-Renshaw they finished 7th in their heat and did not contest the final.

Nathan Maguire is a British wheelchair racer. He won multiple medals at both the 2018 and 2021 World Para Athletics European Championships, and also won the 400 metres mixed class race at multiple British Athletics Championships. Maguire competed in the 4 × 400 metres relay T53/T54 at the 2016 Summer Paralympics, and competed in the 400 metres T54, 800 metres T54 and mixed 4 × 100 metres relay events at the delayed 2020 Summer Paralympics. He was part of the British team that won a silver medal in the 2020 Paralympic mixed 4 × 100 metres relay. He also competed for England at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, and won the 1500 metres T54 event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
