The sixth season of Love Island Australia premiered on 9Now, 28 October 2024 presented by Sophie Monk and narrated by Eoghan McDermott. [1]
Love Island Australia involves a group of contestants, known as "Islanders", living in a villa in Mallorca looking to find love. To remain in the competition, the Islanders must be coupled up with another Islander, as the winning couple wins $50,000. On the first day, the Islanders couple up for the first time based on first impressions. However, throughout the series they may choose to "re-couple" and couple up with another Islander instead. Islanders may join the villa at several stages throughout the season.
Islanders who are single after each re-coupling risk being eliminated and "dumped" from the island. Islanders can also be eliminated via public vote, or through other means such as deciding among themselves who to vote off the island. During the finale, the public vote for a couple they want to win the series and the $50,000 prize. One person from the winning couple can then either split the money with their partner or keep it for themselves.
The first Islanders were announced on social media. Of the islanders, Sydney Paight was a contestant on the fourth series of the American version of the show, Steph Blackos was a contestant on the second series of the French version of the show and spin-off Love Island Games and Mercedes Knox has won second and third season of FBoy Island . The second series of Love Island began on 30 May 2016 hosted by Caroline Flack on ITV2, and ended on 11 July 2016. It's the second from the revived series, but fourth overall. The series was narrated by Iain Stirling. The series was extended to air every night of the week, as opposed to the previous series where it only aired six nights. However the Saturday episode was used as a weekly catch-up entitled Love Island: The Weekly Hot List rather than a nightly highlights episode. The average viewers for this series was 1,470,000, up 900,000 on the first series.
The third series of Love Island began on 5 June 2017 hosted by Caroline Flack on ITV2. The series concluded on 24 July 2017. It is the third from the current revived series, but fifth overall. The series was narrated by Iain Stirling. As well as the series airing every night of the week with the Saturday episode being used as a weekly catch-up entitled Love Island: The Weekly Hot List, a new spin-off was confirmed, Love Island: Aftersun hosted by Flack with a studio audience and celebrity guests on Sunday nights after the main show. During the final Aftersun episode of the series, which was presented live from outside the villa, it was announced that there would be a one-off reunion special airing on 30 July 2017 which included all of the Islanders from the series.
Love Island Australia is an Australian dating reality show based on the international Love Island franchise. Following the premise of other versions of the Love Island format, the show features a group of single contestants, known as "islanders" who live together in a luxury villa that is isolated from the outside world, in an attempt to find love. Throughout the series, the contestants "couple up" to avoid being dumped from the villa. Additionally, Australia will vote for their favourite islanders to stay in the villa. As old islanders are dumped, new islanders will enter the villa. At the end, Australia will vote one final time to determine the winning couple. The series is presented by Sophie Monk with Eoghan McDermott narrating every season except season 3. Stephen Mullan filled in for Eoghan in 2021.

The sixth series of Love Island began broadcasting on 12 January 2020, on ITV2. The series was announced on 24 July 2019, when it was confirmed that two seasons would air in 2020, and this is also the first winter edition of the seasons. Unlike the summer edition, the luxury villa is located in Cape Town. This series is also the first to be hosted by Laura Whitmore, who has taken over from Caroline Flack. The series is narrated by Iain Stirling.
The seventh series of Love Island began broadcasting on 28 June 2021 and was hosted by Laura Whitmore on ITV2. Iain Stirling returned to narrate the series. The series was originally planned to air in the summer of 2020, but was postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Hosted by Maya Jama and narrated by Iain Stirling.
The first series of Love Island: All Stars is a spin-off of the dating game show Love Island featuring former contestants from previous series. It began broadcasting on 15 January 2024 with the launch episode airing across both ITV and ITV2 for the first time in the show's history. Maya Jama returned to present the series, with Iain Stirling again returning as narrator. The series is the shortest in the show’s history, ending after 36 days on 19 February 2024. It was won by Molly Smith and Tom Clare, who were previously contestants on the sixth and ninth series respectively.
