The third series of Love Island began on 5 June 2017 hosted by Caroline Flack on ITV2. [1] [2] The series concluded on 24 July 2017. [3] It is the third from the current revived series, but fifth overall. [4] The series was narrated by Iain Stirling. As well as the series airing every night of the week with the Saturday episode being used as a weekly catch-up entitled Love Island: The Weekly Hot List, a new spin-off was confirmed, Love Island: Aftersun hosted by Flack with a studio audience and celebrity guests on Sunday nights after the main show. [5] During the final Aftersun episode of the series, which was presented live from outside the villa, it was announced that there would be a one-off reunion special airing on 30 July 2017 which included all of the Islanders from the series. [6]
On 28 June 2017, it was confirmed that a second villa would be introduced to the show for the first time ever in a twist designed to put the couples to the ultimate test. Eleven new Islanders were introduced during this twist. [7] [8] Mike Thalassitis and Sam Gowland became the first Islanders to return to the villa having been dumped from the island, after being voted back in by the public. [9]
On 24 July 2017, the series was won by Amber Davies and Kem Cetinay, with Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt as runners-up. [10] The average viewers for this series was 2.52 million, [11] up 1.05 million on the previous series.
Shortly after the final, Cetinay and Chris Hughes released their debut single "Little Bit Leave It" as Chris & Kem. In 2018, Cetinay went onto participate in the tenth series of Dancing on Ice , whilst Jonny Mitchell took part in the twenty-first series of Celebrity Big Brother . It was also announced that Thalassitis would be joining the cast of Celebs Go Dating , [12] and that Chyna Ellis had signed up for Ibiza Weekender . [13] Gowland also joined Geordie Shore from the sixteenth series. In August 2018, Gabby Allen took part in the twenty-second series of Celebrity Big Brother, Montana Brown joins Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls , Olivia Attwood heads around Celebs Go Dating . In 2019, Georgia Harrison and Theo Campbell competed on the 33rd and 34th seasons of MTV's The Challenge whilst Thurlow joined the first series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. In 2020, Allen competed on the 36th season of MTV's The Challenge. [14]
On Valentine's Day, 14 February 2017, it was confirmed that Love Island would return for a third series due to air later in the year, [2] The first trailer for the new series began airing on 28 April 2017. [15] On 24 May 2017 it was confirmed that the series would begin on 5 June 2017. [16] Pictures of the brand new villa were unveiled on 2 June 2017. The villa is located in Mallorca. [17] [18]
The Islanders for the third series were revealed on 29 May 2017, just a week before the launch. [19] However, throughout the series, more Islanders entered the villa to find love. Some Islanders were dumped from the island for either failing to couple up, some were voted off by their fellow Islanders, and others for receiving the fewest votes in public eliminations. The series was won by Amber Davies and Kem Cetinay on 24 July 2017. [10]

The couples were chosen shortly after the contestants entered the villa. After all of the girls entered, the boys were asked to choose a girl to pair up with. Marcel was paired with Olivia, Dom with Montana, Sam and Camilla paired up, Amber and Harley coupled up, whilst Chloë paired up with Kem, and Jessica remained single and was told she would be stealing one of the boys the following day. [50] However, throughout the series the couples swapped and changed.

On 28 June 2017, it was confirmed that a second villa would be introduced to the show for the first time ever in a twist designed to put the couples to the ultimate test. [7] [8] Eleven new Islanders were introduced during this twist. [51] The villa was called "Casa Amor" which translates to Love House, and is located not far from the main villa. The new Islanders for the twist included five girls; Amelia, Chyna, Danielle, Ellisha-Jade and Shannen, as well as six boys; Alex, Craig, Marino, Nathan, Rob and Steve. [52]

In 2023, Attwood joined Loose Women as a panellist. As of 2024 Attwood and GK Barry are the youngest panellists in the shows 25 year history.
Sam Gowland is an English television and social media personality. He rose to fame when he participated in the third series of the ITV2 dating reality competition Love Island in 2017. After his stint on the programme, he began appearing in the MTV reality show Geordie Shore, debuting in the sixteenth series in 2018 before leaving in 2019 at the conclusion of the twentieth series.

Christopher Hughes is an English television personality and sports presenter. In 2017, he appeared on the third series of the ITV2 reality series Love Island, after which he briefly embarked on a music career alongside co-star Kem Cetinay in the duo Chris & Kem.
The second season of Love Island Australia premiered on the Nine Network and 9Now on Monday, 7 October 2019 presented by Sophie Monk and narrated by Eoghan McDermott.
The sixth series of Love Island began broadcasting on 12 January 2020, on ITV2. The series was announced on 24 July 2019, when it was confirmed that two seasons would air in 2020, and this is also the first winter edition of the seasons. Unlike the summer edition, the luxury villa is located in Cape Town. This series is also the first to be hosted by Laura Whitmore, who has taken over from Caroline Flack. The series is narrated by Iain Stirling.
The seventh series of Love Island began broadcasting on 28 June 2021 and was hosted by Laura Whitmore on ITV2. Iain Stirling returned to narrate the series. The series was originally planned to air in the summer of 2020, but was postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The first season Love Island Games is a spin-off of the reality dating series Love Island. It features previous Love Island contestants from various countries in the franchise competing in challenges. The show premiered on 1 November 2023 and was released on Peacock in the United States. Hosted by Maya Jama and narrated by Iain Stirling.
The first series of Love Island: All Stars is a spin-off of the dating game show Love Island featuring former contestants from previous series. It began broadcasting on 15 January 2024 with the launch episode airing across both ITV and ITV2 for the first time in the show's history. Maya Jama returned to present the series, with Iain Stirling again returning as narrator. The series is the shortest in the show’s history, ending after 36 days on 19 February 2024. It was won by Molly Smith and Tom Clare, who were previously contestants on the sixth and ninth series respectively.
The eleventh series of Love Island began broadcasting on 3 June 2024, with the launch episode airing across both ITV1 and ITV2. Maya Jama returned to present the series, as well as the companion show Love Island: Aftersun. Iain Stirling again returned as the show's narrator.
The sixth season of the American version of the television reality program Love Island premiered on June 11, 2024. The season was hosted by Ariana Madix; and for the first time in the American version of Love Island, there was an aftersun hosted by Maura Higgins.
