Kemal Cetinay is a British presenter, TV personality and entrepreneur. He appeared on ITV2 reality series Love Island in 2017, where he won the show's third series. [1] [2]

Early life

Cetinay was born in Essex, England, to parents Niyazi and Figen Cetinay, who are from Cyprus. He was raised in Essex along with his brother Izzy. [3]

Career

Presenter, TV personality and entrepreneur Cetinay began his career the third series of the ITV2 reality series Love Island . He won the 2017 series and is now the host of the official Love Island podcast The Morning After. During his time in the Love Island villa, Cetinay developed a bromance with fellow Islander Chris Hughes and the pair have starred in multiple formats together, including the ITV2 spin off show Straight Outta Love Island and Channel 4's Celebrity Hunted for Stand Up to Cancer plus two series of ITV2's challenge based entertainment game show You Vs. Chris & Kem .

Cetinay works with ITV's This Morning as their entertainment presenter and after appearing on ITV1's Dancing on Ice in 2018, he became their backstage presenter throughout the 2019 and 2020 series.

In October 2017, he and Hughes released a grime single "Little Bit Leave It" under the name Chris & Kem, which reached number 15 on the UK Singles Chart. [2] [4]

Ahead of the fourth series in 2018, it was revealed that Cetinay would be returning alongside Arielle Free to present Love Island: The Morning After, a new daily podcast show delivering the freshest gossip to fans. [5]

In January 2018, Cetinay became a contestant on the 10th series of reality TV show, Dancing on Ice . [6] He and his partner Alex Murphy finished in 4th place. In 2019, he returned to the show as the digital host. [7] He has since gone on to be a guest on several television series, including Love Island: Aftersun , I'm a Celebrity: Extra Camp and Happy Hour with Olly Murs, a one-off special.

In June 2019, Cetinay played in the annual Soccer Aid match which was held at Stamford Bridge. With seven minutes remaining Cetinay scored the Rest of the World's second goal and after the match ended 2-2 he scored his team's third and final penalty in the shoot out, which the Rest of the World won 3-1. He followed this by scoring the winning penalty in 2020; two goals in 2021; a goal and a penalty in another victorious shoot out in 2022; and a goal in 2023. He is the top scorer in Soccer Aid matches with five goals.

Cetinay is the co-founder of the restaurant Array in East London. [8]

In 2023, Cetinay joined radio station Capital as a cover presenter. He presents 4-7pm shows generally on a Bank Holiday Monday.

Personal life

During 2017, Cetinay dated fellow Love Island contestant, Amber Davies, splitting in December 2017. [9] [10]

In August 2022, Cetinay was involved in a collision with 28 year old Tommy Griggs, in Hornchurch, East London, where Griggs was pronounced dead at the scene. A coroner's inquest found that there was "absolutely nothing" that Cetinay could have done to stop the accident. [11]

Olivia Jade Attwood Dack is an English television personality, presenter and model. In 2017, she appeared on the third series of Love Island and later became a regular cast member on the ITVBe reality series The Only Way Is Essex. In November 2022, she participated in the twenty-second series of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! but withdrew on medical grounds two days after arriving. In 2023, Attwood joined Loose Women as a panellist.

The third series of Love Island began on 5 June 2017 hosted by Caroline Flack on ITV2. The series concluded on 24 July 2017. It is the third from the current revived series, but fifth overall. The series was narrated by Iain Stirling. As well as the series airing every night of the week with the Saturday episode being used as a weekly catch-up entitled Love Island: The Weekly Hot List, a new spin-off was confirmed, Love Island: Aftersun hosted by Flack with a studio audience and celebrity guests on Sunday nights after the main show. During the final Aftersun episode of the series, which was presented live from outside the villa, it was announced that there would be a one-off reunion special airing on 30 July 2017 which included all of the Islanders from the series.

The fourth series of Love Island, a British dating reality show, began on 4 June 2018 on ITV2, and concluded on 30 July 2018. It is the fourth from the current revived series, but sixth overall. Caroline Flack presented the series, while Iain Stirling narrated it. The series opener received the highest rating on a digital TV programme since the 2012 Summer Olympics were broadcast on BBC Three; it was also the most watched programme ever on ITV2.

The eleventh series of Dancing on Ice debuted on 6 January 2019 on ITV. Filming took place in the purpose-built studio at Bovingdon Airfield. An announcement was made on 11 March 2018, during the series ten finale, that the show had been recommissioned for another series.

You Vs. Chris & Kem is a British game show that puts members of the public up against former Love Island contestants Chris Hughes and Kem Cetinay in a series of challenges. It has aired on ITV2 since July 2018. The series sees the loveable duo embrace their competitive spirits as they team up to take on the viewers in a series of outlandish, impulsive and no holds barred challenges that put their teamwork to the test. Traveling up and down the country in their specially designed ‘Bro Mobile’, the Love Island double act will be assigned each challenge via their social media channels, in real time. With only clues to guide them, Chris and Kem must decide whether to take on the challenge, knowing little about what exactly it will entail and who they will be competing against.

Christopher Hughes is an English television personality and sports presenter. In 2017, he appeared on the third series of the ITV2 reality series Love Island, after which he briefly embarked on a music career alongside co-star Kem Cetinay in the duo Chris & Kem.

The sixth series of Love Island began broadcasting on 12 January 2020, on ITV2. The series was announced on 24 July 2019, when it was confirmed that two seasons would air in 2020, and this is also the first winter edition of the seasons. Unlike the summer edition, the luxury villa is located in Cape Town. This series is also the first to be hosted by Laura Whitmore, who has taken over from Caroline Flack. The series is narrated by Iain Stirling.

Amber Rose Gill is an English television personality and author. In 2019, she won the fifth series of Love Island. She has since presented the ITV series The Full Treatment (2021), as well as competing on the Channel 4 survival series Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins (2022). Also in 2022, Gill released her debut romance novel, Until I Met You.
