Scott Alexander Thomas (born 11 August 1988) is an English television personality, known for appearing on the second series of the ITV2 reality series Love Island (2016), and later returned to compete in the spin-off series Love Island: All Stars (2025).

Life and career

Scott Alexander Thomas was born on 11 August 1988 in Salford, Greater Manchester, England. [1] [2] He is the twin brother of actor Adam Thomas, who is known for appearing in Waterloo Road and Emmerdale , and the younger brother of Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas. [3] [4] He is of English, Indian and Caribbean heritage. His paternal grandfather is from Mumbai, India, and emigrated to Manchester, England, in 1947. His paternal great-grandmother was a West Indian who had Caribbean ancestry. [5] In June 2016, Thomas was announced as one of the contestants on the second series of Love Island . [6] Throughout the series, Thomas coupled up with Zara Holland on the first day, before coupling up with Kady McDermott, whom he reached the final alongside and finished in third place. [7] [8] During the series, they entered a relationship and dated for a year before splitting up in August 2017. [9] [10] [11]

Thomas has since gone on to make several appearances on the daytime show Lorraine , and has served as a competition presenter on Loose Women . [12] In 2018, he appeared in his brother Adam's episode of Big Star's Bigger Star . In 2020, he starred alongside his brothers and father in the ITV documentary Absolutely India: Mancs in Mumbai, in which they visited India to trace their family roots. [13] In 2022, he appeared on a celebrity edition of the BBC Three programme Hot Property. [14] In 2023, he appeared on The Chris & Rosie Ramsey Show. [15] In January 2025, Thomas returned to Love Island nine years after his initial appearance to appear on the second series of the spin-off Love Island: All Stars . [16]

The second series of Love Island began on 30 May 2016 hosted by Caroline Flack on ITV2, and ended on 11 July 2016. It's the second from the revived series, but fourth overall. The series was narrated by Iain Stirling. The series was extended to air every night of the week, as opposed to the previous series where it only aired six nights. However the Saturday episode was used as a weekly catch-up entitled Love Island: The Weekly Hot List rather than a nightly highlights episode. The average viewers for this series was 1,470,000, up 900,000 on the first series.

The character first appeared during the episode broadcast on July 17, 2009, after the character and Thomas's role were announced alongside that other Barton family characters in May 2009. Thomas called Adam "a family man." Thomas decided to leave the show after seven years following a break from acting in 2016 to participate in I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!. Adam's departure was announced on 22 June 2017, with the episode airing on 2 January 2018.

It is presented by Maya Jama and narrated by Iain Stirling. In May 2024, it was confirmed that the show would return for a second series due to air in 2025.
