The Lusail LRT is a light rail network currently under construction as part of the Lusail urban development project north of Doha, the capital of Qatar. The opening of the system is expected for 2021.

The Lusail LRT will be operated and maintained for a duration of 20 years by RKH Qitarat, a joint venture formed by Hamad Group (51%) and French transit operators Keolis and RATP Dev (49%), on behalf of system owner Qatar Rail. [3] [4] It will be operated by a fleet of 35 Alstom Citadis trams. [5]

The RATP Group, also known as the RATP or Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens, is a state-owned public transport operator and maintainer headquartered in Paris, France. Formed in 1949, it has its origins as the city's public transport operator. Its logo represents, in a stylised version, the Seine's meandering through the Paris area as the face of a person looking up.

Lusail planned city in Qatar

Lusail is a planned city in Qatar, located on the coast, in the southern part of the municipality of Al Daayen. Lusail is located about 23 kilometres (14 mi) north of the city centre of Doha, just north of the West Bay Lagoon, on over 38 square kilometres (15 sq mi) and will eventually have the infrastructure to accommodate 450,000 people. Of these 450,000 people, it is estimated that 250,000 or less will be residents, 190,000 will be office workers and 60,000 will be retail workers.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) was formed by the decree number 17 for the year 2005.

Île-de-France tramway Lines 3a and 3b

Île-de-France tramway Lines 3a and 3b are the first modern tramway in Paris proper since the 1937 closure of the previous comparable system. They are operated by the RATP and divided into two sections called T3a and T3b. The line is also known as the Tramway des Maréchaux because it follows the Boulevards of the Marshals, a series of boulevards that encircle Paris along the route of the former Thiers Wall. The boulevards are, with three exceptions, named for Napoleon's First Empire marshals (maréchaux); they were transformed by redevelopment works carried out during the two and a half year construction of the line, which opened on 16 December 2006 under the designation T3.

Since the early 2000s, Doha, the capital of Qatar has been undergoing an extensive expansion in its transportation network including the addition of new highways, the construction of a new airport, and the under-construction Doha metro. These projects are meant to keep up with the population's rapid growth, which has strained the country's current infrastructure.

Al Daayen Municipality in Qatar

Al Daayen is a municipality in the state of Qatar. Most of the urban landscape can be found in the southern zone of the municipality, particularly in the city of Lusail, while the northern and central sections are primarily rural. It is one of the fastest growing municipalities in Qatar due to its close proximity to the capital Doha.

The Doha Metro is a rapid transit system in Doha, Qatar's capital city, which became operational on 8 May 2019. It has three lines with an approximate overall length of 76 km and 37 stations. It is an integral component of the larger Qatar Rail network, which will include a long-distance rail for passengers and freight, linking Qatar to the GCC, and the Lusail LRT. Capable of reaching 100 km/h, the Doha Metro will be one of the fastest driverless trains in the world.

The Oran Tramway is a system of public transport in Oran, the second largest city in Algeria. The first section includes 18.7 kilometres (11.6 mi) of route and 32 stops. Its Commissioning was delayed several times but took place on May 1, 2013.

Île-de-France tramway Line 9

Île-de-France tramway Line 9 is a tram line which is a part of the modern tram network of the Île-de-France region of France. Line T9 connects Porte de Choisy Paris Métro station and the centre of Orly serving suburbs in the south-east of Paris. Line T9 will not serve Orly Airport though which is currently served by line T7. The line will have a length of approximately 10 km (6.2 mi) and 19 stations. The line opened to the public on 10 April 2021.

Qatar Rail

Qatar Railways Company, commonly known as Qatar Rail, is a state-owned railway company, responsible for rail transport in Qatar. It is owned and operated by the Government of Qatar. Established in 2011, the company is responsible for the design, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the entire rail network and systems. It will manage Qatar's rail network once operational.

Alstom Citadis Spirit Light rail vehicle custom-made for North American market

The Alstom Citadis Spirit is a low-floor articulated light rail vehicle developed by Alstom for Ottawa's O-Train. It is marketed as part of its Alstom Citadis family, which includes other models of light rail vehicles, and is based on the Citadis Dualis.

Songjiang Tram

Songjiang Tram is a light rail tramway in Shanghai, China. The system consists of two lines totaling 31 km (19 mi) with 42 stations. Contrary to the Zhangjiang Tram, Songjiang trams use centenary power supply and steel-wheeled rail systems. Most of them use independent rights of way. The intersection signal lights were adjusted through the system to make them pass first, and the running speed reaches 25-30km/h. Trains run from 6:00 till 22:00. With further extension of the network public transport modal split in Songjiang is expected from the current 23% to 40%.
