Manadath Mohammed Pillay Pareed Pillay is an Indian judge,jurist and lawyer who served as the 15th Chief Justice of Kerala. [1] He was also appointed as the 3rd Kerala Lokayuktha in 2009 and the first Chairman of the Kerala State Human Rights Commission in 1998 by the Governor of Kerala. [2] [3]
Pareed Pillay was born in Aluva to M. K. Mohammed Pillay,the younger brother of prominent industrialist and philanthropist M. K. Mackar Pillay.[ citation needed ]
Pillay's brother,M. M. Abdul Khader was a senior advocate of the Supreme Court of India,who also served as the Advocate General of Kerala from 1969 to 1979. [4]
Justice Vaidyanathapuram Rama Iyer Krishna Iyer was an Indian judge who became a pioneer of judicial activism. He pioneered the legal-aid movement in the country. Before that,he was a state minister and politician.

M. Fathima Beevi was an Indian judge who was a justice of the Supreme Court of India. On her retirement from the court,she served as a member of the National Human Rights Commission and later as the Governor of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu from 1997 to 2001. Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College,commonly known by its former name Madras Law College,is a law school,located in Chennai (Madras),Tamil Nadu,India. It is also referred to as Government Law College or GLC,Chennai. It was established in 1891. It was renamed in 1990,as Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College,by the Government of Tamil Nadu in commemoration of the birth centenary of B. R. Ambedkar. Konakuppakatil Gopinathan Balakrishnan is an Indian judge who served as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India and later the chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission of India. He was the first judge from Kerala to become the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. His tenure lasting more than three years has been one of the longest in the Supreme Court of India. While being Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court,he was appointed the acting governor of Gujarat from 16 January 1999 to 18 March 1999. Navanethem "Navi" Pillay is a South African jurist who served as the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights from 2008 to 2014. A South African of Indian Tamil origin,Pillay was the first non-white woman judge of the High Court of South Africa. She has also served as a judge of the International Criminal Court and President of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. Her four-year term as High Commissioner for Human Rights began on 1 September 2008 and was extended an additional two years in 2012. In April 2015,Pillay became the 16th Commissioner of the International Commission Against the Death Penalty. Mohammad Hidayatullah was the 11th Chief Justice of India serving from 25 February 1968 to 16 December 1970,and the sixth vice president of India,serving from 31 August 1979 to 30 August 1984.
