MMMBop: The Collection is a 2005 compilation album by Hanson on the Spectrum label, owned by Universal Records. Released in Europe, it is composed of 17 previously released tracks from the albums Middle of Nowhere , Snowed In , Live from Albertane and This Time Around .

The compilation garnered some controversy due to its release around the time of Hanson's documentary "Strong Enough to Break," which chronicled the troubles Hanson encountered in trying to release their third album before leaving Island (Hanson's former label Mercury had been merged into Island, which is owned by Universal, the distributor of this compilation.)

Hanson is an American pop rock band from Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States, formed by brothers Isaac Hanson, Taylor Hanson, and Zac Hanson. Supporting members include Dimitrius Collins (guitar) and Andrew Perusi (bass), who have toured and performed live with the band since 2007. They are best known for the 1997 hit song "MMMBop" from their debut album released through Mercury/Polygram Records, entitled Middle of Nowhere, which earned three Grammy nominations. The group's label Mercury Records was merged with its sister labels and the band was moved to Island Def Jam Music Group. Jordan Taylor Hanson is an American musician best known as a member of the pop rock band Hanson. He was born in Jenks, Oklahoma, a suburb of Tulsa. He sings both lead and back-up vocals, and plays keyboard, percussion, guitar, harmonica, and piano. He is also the lead singer of supergroup Tinted Windows.

Over the Rhine (band)

Over the Rhine is an American, Ohio-based folk music band, the core of which is the husband-and-wife team of pianist/guitarist/bassist Linford Detweiler and vocalist/guitarist Karin Bergquist. The band began as a quartet with guitarist Ric Hordinski and drummer Brian Kelley. Hordinski left the band in December 1996, and Kelley continued to play into 1997 before departing. The original foursome reunited in December 2008 at The Taft Theatre to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the formation of the band, and again in the summer of 2010 at Ric's studio, "the Monastery", to play the album Good Dog Bad Dog live, in its entirety.

Middle of Nowhere is the debut studio album by American pop rock group Hanson, and the first to be released on a major label, which was Polygram Records and Mercury Records. Released in 1997, it features slicker studio production compared to their previous indie efforts Boomerang and MMMBop. The band members were between the ages of 11 and 16 when it was released. "Yearbook", one of the album's more dramatic songs, was not performed live until the recording of Middle of Nowhere Acoustic on May 5, 2007.

Although Hanson had several albums in between, This Time Around is their first standard studio release since 1997's Middle of Nowhere. The album does not feature as many bubblegum pop style tunes as Middle of Nowhere; instead, Hanson opted to focus on a more classic rock sound, or as MTV.com stated, "stadium rock". The Albertane Tour was the debut tour by American band, Hanson. The tour supported the band's debut studio album, Middle of Nowhere (1997).
