MTV1987 is the debut studio album by American recording artist Kevin Abstract, released on July 15, 2014. As of November 2018, it has been removed from most major download and streaming services.
Kevin Abstract began writing and recording his debut album MTV1987 near the end of 2013, soon after the release of his first self-titled EP. [1] It was recorded in just under six months of constant studio sessions with his in-house record producer, Romil. [2] MTV1987 is a conceptual album that fuses elements of past and present pop culture with the setting of the predominantly digital age we currently live in today. The album itself describes Kevin's life. [3] The overall sound of the album was inspired by artists such as: Kid Cudi, Frank Ocean, Justin Timberlake, Crystal Castles and Britney Spears. [4]
Upon release, MTV1987 was met with critical acclaim and was praised for its experimental nature as well as the overall catchy pop tone it manages to consistently maintain. [5] The album was posted on popular music sites such as Billboard, [2] Complex, [5] Spin, [6] 2DopeBoyz, [7] and Pigeons & Planes. [8] The album ranked at #38 on Spin's "Top 40 Hip-hop Albums of 2014" [6] list as well as #31 on Pigeons & Planes' list of "Top 50 Best Albums of 2014" [9]

Watch the Throne is a collaborative studio album by the American rappers Jay-Z and Kanye West, collectively known as The Throne. TM is the eighth and final studio album by American hip hop boy band Brockhampton. It was released on November 18, 2022, one day after the release of the group's previous studio album The Family, through RCA and Question Everything. For its entire rollout, The Family was advertised as the band's final album. A surprise release, TM was announced for release alongside a promo image for The Family, and was billed by the band as a "parting gift for fans".
Blanket is the fourth studio album by American rapper Kevin Abstract, released on November 3, 2023, through RCA Records and Video Store. It is his first album after the breakup of Brockhampton the previous year. Abstract's former Brockhampton bandmate Romil Hemnani produced the album with multi-instrumentalist Jonah Abraham. The title track was released as the lead single with an accompanying "dystopian" video co-directed by Abstract and featuring him interacting with three characters in costumes. This was followed by three additional singles leading up to the release of the album: "What Should I Do?", "Running Out" and "Madonna" released on October 18, October 25 and November 1, 2023, respectively.
