The MacTier Cup is the name of the championship for the top senior men's rugby league in Canada.
Originally awarded to the champion of the Rugby Canada Super League (RCSL), the MacTier Cup was established in 1998 along with the RCSL. The first MacTier Cup Championship match was played between the Vancouver Island Crimson Tide and the Nova Scotia Keiths. Vancouver Island defeated Halifax in that game. The champions of the final RCSL championship were the Newfoundland Rock, who won the cup in 2008 after defeating the Calgary Mavericks 30–6.
Since 2009, the Cup has been awarded to the winners of the Canadian Rugby Championship (CRC). Since the inception of the CRC, the Ontario Blues have won the MacTier Cup six times, The BC Bears have won the Cup two times, while the Prairie Wolf Pack and the Atlantic Rock both have won the cup one time.

The Pacific Junior Hockey League (PJHL) is a Canadian junior ice hockey league which operates in the Lower mainland of British Columbia. Although the PJHL has included American teams in the past, the league's twelve franchises all currently reside in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. Several National Hockey League stars began their junior hockey careers in the PJHL, but the main focus of the league is player development and education with strong ties to the local hockey community. The PJHL Championship is awarded annually to the league playoff champion and the winner moves on to compete against the champions of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League and the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League for the British Columbia Provincial Title, the Cyclone Taylor Cup. The winner of the Cyclone Taylor Cup moves on to compete for the Western Canada Junior "B" Crown, the Keystone Cup.
The 2006 Rugby Canada Super League season was the ninth season for the RCSL.
Rugby union is a moderately popular sport in Canada; it is quite strong as a participation sport, particularly in several hotspots like British Columbia, Atlantic Canada, and Ontario but does not attract the same level of spectator support yet, likely because the CFL's popular brand of Canadian Football is still similar to rugby in many ways, whilst also being the gridiron game. Rugby Canada is the administrative body for rugby union in Canada. Every province also has its own union.
The Prairie Fire was a Canadian rugby union team based in Regina, Saskatchewan. The Canadian Rugby Championship (CRC) is an amateur rugby union league located in Canada, partially funded by the World Rugby. It is the highest level of domestic rugby in Canada. There are four representative teams from regions across Canada, competing for the MacTier Cup. The regular season goes from August to September, and there is no postseason. The CRC was started in 2009 by Rugby Canada. The league continues to grow each year, with further games being added to the schedule, and the format having changed in each of its first three years, making the league more competitive and a prospect of becoming professional one day.
The 2011 Canadian Rugby Championship was the 3rd season of the Canadian Rugby Championship. No Canada Selects team would be chosen because there was no ARC season that year, due to the Rugby World Cup being held the same year, in which Canada participated.
The 2010 CRC Season was the second season of the Canadian Rugby Championship. This was the first year when instead of the CRC Champion advancing to the Americas Rugby Championship, a Canada Selects team was chosen from players participating in the tournament to go on and represent Canada at the international tournament. This was also the first season that included a post-season to decide the winner of the MacTier Cup.
The 2009 Canadian Rugby Championship was the inaugural season of the CRC, Canada's highest level of domestic rugby competition. The BC Bears won the MacTier Cup going undefeated, while the Ontario Blues finished as runners-up, allowing them both to advance to the Americas Rugby Championship.
