Maegan Chant Jackson (born 19 April 1997) is a Canadian former artistic gymnast. [1] She was part of the Canadian team at the 2013 and 2014 World Championships as well as the 2015 Pan American Games. [2] She competed for the Florida Gators women's gymnastics team.

Career

In 2013, her first year as a senior, Chant competed at the Canadian Gymnastics Championships where she took bronze in the all-around and gold on vault, earning her a spot on the Canadian team at the 2013 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. She also won a silver on vault at the Vendespace World cup as well as a gold in floor exercise and a bronze on vault at the Cottbus Challenge Cup. [2]

In 2014, Chant took silver on both vault and floor exercise at the Canadian Gymnastics Championships. She was a part of the Canadian team at the 2014 Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships where the team won silver. She also took bronze in the vault competition. That year Chant was also a part of the Canadian 2014 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships team. [3]

In 2015, Chant won silver on floor exercise at the Canadian Gymnastics Championships. She was a part of the Canadian silver winning team at the 2015 Pan American Games. [3]

In 2016, Chant was eighth at the Canadian Gymnastics Championships and was chosen for the 2016 Canadian Olympic National Selection camp. She placed eighth on day 1 and ninth on day 2 and was not selected for the team. [3]

On June 23, 2023 Chant married Ryan Jackson.

She is the 2017 World all-around silver medalist, making her the first Canadian gymnast to win a world all-around medal, and she led the Canadian women's gymnastics team to a bronze medal in the 2022 World Championships team final, the first world team medal won by a Canadian gymnastics team. Rebeca Rodrigues de Andrade is a Brazilian artistic gymnast. She is the 2020 Olympic, 2021 and 2023 World champion on the vault and 2022 World all-around champion. Andrade is the first Brazilian female gymnast to medal at an Olympic Games, and she is only the second Brazilian woman to win a gold medal at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. Mai Murakami is a Japanese retired artistic gymnast and Olympic medalist. She represented Japan at the 2016 and 2020 Olympics, winning a bronze medal on floor exercise in the latter. Marcia Teresa Videaux Jiménez is a Cuban artistic gymnast. She is the 2015 Pan American Games champion and the 2018 Pan American Championships silver medalist on the vault. She is the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games team, all-around, and floor exercise champion and the vault and uneven bars silver medalist. She has won four medals, including two gold, on the FIG World Cup series. She represented Cuba at the 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics.

Ayelén Tarabini is an Argentine artistic gymnast who represents Kyrgyzstan in international competition. She is the 2008 Pan American Championships bronze medalist on vault and the 2017 South American Championships gold medalist on floor exercise. She competed at five World Championships, but never participated at the Olympics in part due to injuries. Tarabini was a member of the Argentinian national gymnastics team from 2006 until 2020, when she retired from the sport.

Shallon Jade Olsen is a Canadian artistic gymnast. She is the 2018 World silver medalist and 2018 Commonwealth Games champion on vault. She is also the 2018 Commonwealth Games floor exercise bronze medalist and the 2019 Pan American Games vault bronze medalist. She was a member of the Canadian team that won the gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and the silver medal at the 2019 Pan American Games. She is also the 2016 Pacific Rim vault champion, team silver medalist, and floor exercise bronze medalist. She represented Canada at the 2016 Olympics where she was the youngest member of the Canadian Olympic team and at the 2020 Olympic Games. Thaís Fidélis dos Santos is a Brazilian artistic gymnast. She represented Brazil at the 2017 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where she placed fourth on the floor exercise.

She represented Australia at the 2020 Summer Olympics and is a two-time Oceanic all-around champion (2021-22). She is the 2015 Australian junior national all-around champion and a three-time national all-around medalist at the senior level. She won a silver medal on the vault at the 2018 Melbourne World Cup.
