The island is separated from the main island of Singapore by a channel of water, the Keppel Harbour, and is adjacent to Pulau Brani, a smaller island wedged between Sentosa and the main island.

World of Color is a nighttime show at Disney California Adventure in the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. Conceived by Vice President of Parades and Spectaculars Steve Davison, and designed by Disney Live Entertainment, the show has 1,200 water fountains and includes lights, fire, lasers, and fog, with high-definition projections on mist screens. The show is inspired by Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color anthology television series, as evidenced by the use of its eponymous theme song written by the Sherman Brothers.
Songs of the Sea was a multimedia show located at Siloso Beach on Sentosa Island, Singapore. Designed by ECA2 founder, Yves Pépin, Songs of the Sea started its operations on 26 March 2007, a day after the Sentosa Musical Fountain ceased operations. The fountain is a $30 million investment by Sentosa to enhance its entertainment product offerings and to attract more tourists. It was the world's only permanent show set in the sea – with pyrotechnics displays, water jets that could shoot up to 40 meters, laser show, flame bursts, a live 7-person cast, and an open-air viewing gallery which can accommodate 3,000 visitors. Songs of the Sea had its final show on 4 May 2014, and was closed to make way for a brand new multi-sensory production titled Wings of Time, which was launched on 17 June that year.
Sentosa Musical Fountain, also known as the Magical Fountain of Sentosa, or as the Musical Fountain by locals, was a former musical fountain water feature and entertainment venue made by Waltzing Waters on Sentosa Island in Singapore. It was located on a now-demolished portion of the Imbiah Lookout entertainment zone on the island. The Musical Fountain was officially opened on 11 June 1982, and ceased operations 25 years later on 26 March 2007, and was demolished that same year. The venue arena could accommodate more than 5000 people. It hosted five different shows through the 25 years it had been in operation, including the famous Magical Sentosa show which ran during the last 5 years of the fountain's operations.

In the course of his career, Pépin's projects have been honored with many awards; an outstanding personal honor was received in 2006, when his peers in the Themed Entertainment Association, the international association for creators of compelling places and experiences, presented him with the prestigious TEA Thea Award for a Lifetime of Distinguished Achievements.
BraviSEAmo! was a nighttime water show at Tokyo DisneySea. The show featured water, pyrotechnic, and firework effects and was performed on the lagoon of the Mediterranean Harbor. The show was directed by Yves Pépin from ECA2 and used little dialogue, instead featuring an orchestral score by Gavin Greenaway. BraviSEAmo! replaced Tokyo DisneySea's earlier nighttime show DisneySea Symphony, and was replaced by a new version of Fantasmic! in 2011. The show ran from July 17, 2004 to November 13, 2010 and was sponsored by NTT DoCoMo throughout its run.
Sentosa Fountain Gardens was a garden promenade attraction on the western part of Sentosa Island, Singapore, which opened in 1989. It was located in the Imbiah Lookout zone of the island. The gardens and other features were demolished in 2007 for construction of the new Resorts World Sentosa, a large integrated style resort with new entertainment venues.
Disney Dreams! was a nighttime spectacular at Disneyland Park in Disneyland Paris. Designed specially for the park's 20th anniversary in 2012, the show originally ran from 1 April 2012 to 24 March 2017, when it was replaced by Disney Illuminations. A revival of the show is set to premiere on 12 April 2023, as part of the park's 30th anniversary celebrations.
Songs and Tunes from The Original Soundtrack of Magical Sentosa is a remix album of the multimedia ECA2 show, "Le Lac Aux Images"; though it actually serves as the main soundtrack to other ECA2 production, "Magical Sentosa". It is currently not known when it was recorded; many have suggested the soundtrack was probably recorded around 2001 in the studios of ECA2 located in France. Originally, most tracks have never been able to be released to the general public except"Water Waltz", which was somehow bootlegged onto YouTube in its original studio audio in mid-2011. The soundtrack album is considered a collectable because of its rarity and historical significance. The album employs early material directly stripped off Le Lac Aux Images and later remixed to its current form.The soundtrack has largely survived in home video format; some of them were bootlegged by audiences who have watched the show itself. It was until the 30 January 2013, when a Singaporean YouTuber who goes by the username"caix92"rediscovered the album among a stash of items at his / her home. All eight tracks in their original studio audio were uploaded to the owner's YouTube page along with the album's artwork, thought to be long lost in its entirety for six years after the fountain's closure.
ECA2 is a French Event production company located in Paris specialized in creation, design and production of multimedia shows and large-scale events. ECA2 is member of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions and also the Themed Entertainment Association. In 2016 the company has fifteen permanent employees, and is headed by Jean-Christophe Canizares. Depending on the project, ECA2 hires up to a hundred specialists, including architects, project management, technical director, sound designer, lighting designer, and art direction. Since more than thirty years, ECA2 has created and produced projects in France, China, Singapore, Mexico and around the world.
My Little Pony: Equestria Girls – Rainbow Rocks, known simply as Rainbow Rocks, is a 2014 flash animated fantasy musical movie based on Hasbro's Equestria Girls toy line and media franchise, which is a spin-off of the 2010 relaunch of My Little Pony. The movie was directed by Jayson Thiessen and Ishi Rudell and written by Meghan McCarthy and was produced by DHX Media's 2D animation studio in Vancouver, Canada for Hasbro Studios in the United States, as a sequel to the original Equestria Girls movie (2013). The movie premiered in select theaters across the United States and Canada on September 27, 2014, which was followed by broadcast on Discovery Family, a joint venture between Discovery, Inc. and Hasbro, on October 17, 2014, and then a home media release on October 28, 2014.
Harmonious is a multimedia, fireworks-based nighttime spectacular at Epcot at the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida. Serving as the long-term replacement of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth, Harmonious showcases and celebrates the cultures and stories of the world that have inspired various Disney films and music, and how it can unite us all, overcoming any language or border. The show utilizes pyrotechnics, choreographed water fountains, water curtains, lasers, searchlights, and LED screens to present a 360° audio-visual experience on the park's World Showcase Lagoon. The primary show equipment is notably housed on a collective of floating barges that are permanently moored at the center of the lagoon. Harmonious is described as the largest nighttime spectacular ever created by Disney Live Entertainment.
