Homagama Suburb in Colombo District, Western Province, Sri Lanka

Homagama is a town in the Colombo District, Sri Lanka, about 24 kilometres (15 mi) south-east of Colombo. The Homagama Pradeshiya Sabha consists of the Homagama divisional secretariat and 10 GN division of Padukka DS division. The total Land area is about is 137 square kilometres (53 sq mi) of 90 GN division. The Pradeshiya Sabha was established under act No 15 of 1987, and has the highest population of any pradeshiya sabha area in Sri Lanka. Maharagama town in Western Province, Sri Lanka

Maharagama is a town in Colombo District, Sri Lanka on the High-Level (A4) Road about 10 km from the centre of the commercial capital. It developed rapidly in the 1980s as a dormitory suburb. Governed by the Maharagama Urban Council, the town possesses facilities like supermarkets, department stores, clothing, food and beverages shops to fulfill the needs of citizens.

SRI JAYAWARDENEPURA KOTTE Divisional Secretariat within Colombo District in the Western province is larger than Dehiwala, Rathmalana and Moratuwa Divisional Secretariats. The total extent utilized lands in Gramaniladhari divisions is about 1523 hectares. It consists of 20 GS divisions bounded on Kolonnawa and Kaduwela Divisional secretariats by north and east, Maharagama and Thimbirigasyaya Divisional Secretariats by south and west. This area is to be considered as Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte Municipal council area as well.

Maharagama Electoral District was an electoral district of Sri Lanka between July 1977 and February 1989. The district was named after the town of Maharagama in Colombo District, Western Province. The 1978 Constitution of Sri Lanka introduced the proportional representation electoral system for electing members of Parliament. The existing 160 mainly single-member electoral districts were replaced with 22 multi-member electoral districts. Maharagama electoral district was replaced by the Colombo multi-member electoral district at the 1989 general elections, the first under the PR system, though Maharagama continues to be a polling division of the multi-member electoral district.
