Maksim Borisovich Kabanov (Russian : Максим Борисович Кабанов; born 30 December 1982) is a Russian former footballer.
A youth product of FC Spartak Moscow, he joined FC Fakel Voronezh on loan in February 2002. [1]
In December 2003, he signed a 5-year contract with FC Torpedo Moscow. [2]
He played 2 games in the UEFA Champions League 2001–02 for FC Spartak Moscow.
He is the older brother of Sergei Kabanov.

Spartak finished the season in 2nd position, qualifying for the 2006–07 UEFA Champions League Second Qualifying Round. In the 2005–06 Russian Cup, Spartak progressed to the Quarterfinals of the Russian Cup which took place during the 2006 season.

Spartak finished the season in 2nd position for the second year in a row, qualifying for the 2008–09 UEFA Champions League Third Qualifying Round. In the 2006–07 Russian Cup reached the semifinal before being knocked out by Lokomotiv Moscow, whilst in the 2007–08 Russian Cup they were knocked out at the Round of 32 stage by Terek Grozny. In Europe, Spartak were knocked out of the UEFA Cup by Celta Vigo before being knocked out of the 2007–08 UEFA Champions League by Celtic in the Third Qualifying Round.
The 2009 FC Spartak Moscow season was the club's 18th season in the Russian Premier League season. Spartak finished the season in 2nd place, reaching the quarterfinals of the 2008–09 Russian Cup, where they were knocked out by Dynamo Moscow, and the Last 16 of the 2009–10 Russian Cup where FC Moscow knocked them out.
