Mamonas Assassinas is the only studio album released by the Brazilian rock band of same name. It was released in 1995, and in only eight months (until the end of the band), it sold more than 2 million copies. [1]
Rick Bonadio — nicknamed by the band "Creuzebek" — was chosen to produce the band's debut album. However, their record label EMI wanted at least ten tracks and the band hand only three in hands. In a week the bandmates wrote other 12 tracks that made the cut, but "Não Peide Aqui Baby", a parody of The Beatles's "Twist and Shout", was shelved due to the amount of profanity in the lyrics. The recording took place in São Paulo, on Bonadio's studio, and was mixed at The Enterprise in Los Angeles, United States.
The band created the concept of the cover, a drawing by Carlos Sá in which the musicians appear in front of a naked woman exposing large breasts (evoking the pun in the band's name, "mamona" as in "mama", breast in Portuguese), inspired by the Playboy issue featuring Brazilian model Mari Alexandre. [2] EMI later demanded that the band be featured on the cover as well. [3]

Satirises "as seen on TV" sales strategies. The title is a reference to the phone number of one of such services, well known in Brazil at the time. The song also includes several English words such as money, good, work, have, and play. The latter 3 being conjugated in Portuguese as verbs, like "Workando" meaning "working".
A Vira-styled song (inspired by the songs of Portuguese singer Roberto Leal), pokes fun at the meaning of the word suruba (meaning "orgy"), which is mistaken for something else by a Portuguese couple.

Makes fun of a flamboyant macho man who suffers impotent as the woman he loves cheats on him. Features a short synthesizer sequence off Rush's "Tom Sawyer" and "The Mirror" from Dream Theater, and closes with the five-note phrase from Close Encounters of the Third Kind .
Sung in mock English, in a Max Cavalera-like tone to accompany the heavy metal style of the song, which was closely associated to Sepultura at the time, is a spoof of heavy metal music. The lyrics apparently convey the message that heavy metal fans cannot understand what their idols sing.

Satyrised pop-samba music (pagode), about a poor man whose girl left him for an alemão ("German", a slang term for white, wealthy people). The title also parodies the song "Lá Vem o Negão" (Here Comes the Black Guy) from samba group Cravo e Canella, which was a hit just two years before the album's release. The song also features well-known pagode musicians doing additional instrumental work: Fabinho from Negritude Júnior and Leandro Lehart from Art Popular.
The album is the 9th best-selling album of all time in Brazil amongst national artists, and the third best-selling album of the 1990s. The album broke several records previously unseen before in the country, and it remains to this day as the best-selling debut album ever in Brazil, as well as the fastest-selling album in a single day in the country, seeling 25,000 copies in just 12 hours. [4] At one point, it sold 50,000 copies per day, 100,000 copies every two days, which granted a Gold certification at the time, and it went on to sell more than 350,000 copies in a week. In less than 100 days the album had sold 1 million copies, doubling that number by December 1995. With 2 million copies sold in just six months, it became the fastest selling album of all time in Brazil. The band dominated Brazilian radio stations and received overall acclaim, making them legends in history of Brazilian music.

Mamonas Assassinas was a Brazilian pop rock band. Their musical style employed a humorous mixture between rock and a wide range of styles, often borrowing elements from other music, among which were the main riff of the Portuguese Vira ("Vira-Vira"), Northeastern Brazilian rhythms like forró, Mexican music, heavy metal, sertanejo, and even pagode.

Exaltasamba is a Brazilian pagode music group, formed in 1982 in São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo. The group began simply playing gigs in restaurants and bars. They later began writing their own songs, eventually releasing an album, "Eterno Amanhecer" in 1992. However, it wasn't until 1996 that they truly became successful, with their 1996 and 1997 albums, "Luz do Desejo and "Desliga e Vem" each going Double Platinum. They released a Live Album with songs handpicked by their fans via E-Mail. In 2003, one of their best known Vocalists, Thiaguinho, joined the group. They continued to release albums. Their 25th Anniversary was in 2010, and they had written new material to perform on this show. The year thereafter, Thiaguinho announced that he planned on leaving the group. They subsequently announced their disbandment after 25 years as a band. Their final concert was in February 2012, and it was broadcast on a channel considered the Brazilian Equivalent to the United States' MTV; Multishow. Or so we thought.
Thiago André Barbosa better known as Thiaguinho, is a pagode singer, composer and presenter. He first gained notoriety for participating in the talent show Fama in 2002 and became famous for being a member of the musical group Exaltasamba from 2003 to 2012. In 2012, he released his first solo album and live album, "Ousadia & Alegria", selling more than 80,000 copies and earning him a Latin Grammy nomination in the Best Samba/Pagode Album category. He released his second solo album, "Outro Dia, Outra História", in 2014 which sold 40,000 copies and earned a gold record certificate. His third album, "Hey, Mundo!" was released in 2015, and was a commercial success, selling more than 160,000 copies and going double platinum. His second live video recording, "VamoQVamo" was released in 2016. In the same year, he released another album called "Tardezinha". His "Só Vem" album was released in 2017 which sold 40,000 copies and earned him another gold record. He released "Tardezinha 2" in 2017, followed by his third live recording called "Vibe" in 2020.
Fôrça Bruta is the seventh studio album by Brazilian singer-songwriter and guitarist Jorge Ben. It was recorded with the Trio Mocotó band and released by Philips Records in September 1970. Conceived at a time of political tension in dictatorial Brazil, its title comes from the Portuguese term meaning "brute force" and has been interpreted ironically due to the music's relatively relaxed style.
João Penca e Seus Miquinhos Amestrados, commonly referred to as simply João Penca or J.P.M.A., were a Brazilian new wave band from Rio de Janeiro. Mil e Uma Noites is the fourth studio album and the first greatest hits album of Brazilian pop girl group Rouge, released on May 30, 2005, by Sony BMG. The work is a mix of new tracks and a greatest hits compilation, including "Ragatanga", "Brilha La Luna" and "Blá Blá Blá". Previously unreleased songs were "Me Leva Contigo", "Mais Uma Da Lista", "Cidade Triste", "Onde Está O Amor?", "O Amor é Ilusão" and the lead single "Vem Habib ", and a bonus acoustic version of the hit "Um Anjo Veio Me Falar". The song was written and produced by Rick Bonadio, and brings again the dance-pop and zouk with Latin elements in their sonority. The song talks about living in peace, having fun, without thinking of anything. In the middle of the song, Aline does a rap.
"Vem Habib (Wala Wala)" is a song by the Brazilian pop girl group Rouge, for the group's fourth studio album, Mil e Uma Noites (2005). It was written by and produced by Rick Bonadio. It takes inspiration from "arabic pop music", having a totally different rhythm from the previous songs of the group. Columbia Records released "Vem Habib (Wala Wala)" as the first single from the album on May 23, 2005. The music video of the single is spent in the desert, where they are prisoners of a sultan. The group also sang the song on the Mil e Uma Noites Tour (2005), Chá Rouge Tour (2017) and 15 Anos Tour (2018).

Prazo Longo is the second album by Brazilian rock band Charlie Brown Jr. Like its predecessor, it was released through Virgin Records on March 6, 1999, and produced by Rick Bonadio and Tadeu Patolla. Totaling 25 tracks, it is Charlie Brown Jr.'s longest studio album; in an interview, vocalist Chorão explained that Preço Curto... Prazo Longo was recorded out of necessity, so the band could have more repertoire for the set list of their shows. Six of the album's tracks had previously appeared as teasers in the promotional EP Aquele Luxo!, released some months prior.
