Marc Brown (born July 5, 1969) is an American basketball coach and retired professional player. He is currently head basketball coach at New Jersey City University. He played professionally for 15 years following an All-American college career at Siena College.
Brown, a 5-foot-11-inch (1.80 m) point guard, played basketball at Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey, graduating in 1987, and played collegiately at Siena. As a sophomore, Brown led Siena to its first NCAA tournament appearance in 1989 then led the 14th-seeded Saints to a first round upset over 3 seed Stanford. Brown scored 32 points, handed out 6 assists, and hit the winning free throws in the 80–78 victory. [1] He was named an honorable mention All-American by the Associated Press that year. [2]
Brown ended up as a four-time first team All-Conference performer in the ECAC North and the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), and was named the conference's player of the year as a senior in 1991. He also repeated as an AP honorable mention All-American that season. Brown ended his Siena career as the school's leading scorer (2,284 career points),assists (796), and fourth in steals (221). He was elected to the school's athletic Hall of Fame in 1998. [2]
Brown went undrafted in the 1991 NBA draft, and embarked on a 15-year professional career taking him to Portugal, France, Brazil, Venezuela and Mexico. He also played in the Continental Basketball Association for the Albany Patroons and Fort Wayne Fury. [2]
After retiring from basketball in 2007, Marc Brown followed his father Charles Brown as head coach at New Jersey City University on an interim basis. In 2010, Brown was named head coach of the Knights. [3] In the 2010–11 season Brown lead New Jersey City University to their 18th NCAA Division III tournament, guiding the team to a victory over Montclair State University in the conference championship game. The victory guided NJCU to their 12th New Jersey Athletic Conference title.

The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I. Of its current 11 full members, 10 are located in three states of the northeastern United States: Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York. The other member is in Maryland.
Paul Harrington Hewitt is an American college basketball coach and the former head coach at Georgia Institute of Technology and George Mason University. He grew up in Westbury, New York. In 2021, he was named the head coach of the Ontario Clippers, the NBA G League affiliate of the Los Angeles Clippers.
Louis McLaughlin Orr was an American basketball player and coach. He played professionally in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and became a college basketball coach. Orr was the head coach at Bowling Green State University from 2007–2014 and at Seton Hall from 2001 until 2006. He was formerly an assistant at Xavier University, Providence College and his alma mater Syracuse University, before getting his first head coaching job at Siena College. He was also an assistant coach at Georgetown under his former New York Knicks teammate Patrick Ewing.
The Loyola Greyhounds men's basketball team represents Loyola University Maryland in National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I competition. They are currently led by third-year head coach Tavaras Hardy. It became a member of the Patriot League along with the university's other intercollegiate athletic programs on July 1, 2013. The Memphis Tigers men's basketball team represents the University of Memphis in NCAA Division I men's college basketball. The Tigers have competed in the American Athletic Conference since 2013. As of 2020, the Tigers had the 26th highest winning percentage in NCAA history. While the Tigers have an on-campus arena, Elma Roane Fieldhouse, the team has played home games off campus since the mid-1960s. The Tigers moved to the Mid-South Coliseum at the Memphis Fairgrounds in 1966, and then to downtown Memphis at The Pyramid, initially built for the team in 1991 and later home to the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies. In 2004, both teams moved to a new downtown venue, FedExForum. ESPN Stats and Information Department ranked Memphis as the 19th most successful basketball program from 1962 to 2012 in their annual 50 in 50 list.
Richard F. Byrd is a retired American college basketball coach who served as the head coach of the Belmont Bruins men's basketball team from 1986-2019. On February 16, 2017, with the Bruins win over Eastern Kentucky, Byrd marked his 750th career win, 658 with Belmont. He retired after the 2018-2019 season with 805 wins, which ranks twelfth all-time among NCAA Division I men's basketball coaches.

Benjamin Abraham Braun is an American former men's college basketball coach and college basketball analyst. He served as the head men's basketball coach at Siena Heights University (1977–1985), Eastern Michigan University (1986–1996), the University of California, Berkeley (1996–2008), and Rice University (2008–2014), compiling a career coaching record of 615–517. He won the most games (185) of any head coach history of the Eastern Michigan Eagles men's basketball program and was named Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year three times. As the head coach of the California Golden Bears, he won the Pac-10 Coach of the Year and had a 219–154 record (.587). Braun currently is a studio and game basketball analyst for the Pac-12 Network.

The Murray State Racers men's basketball program represents Murray State University in intercollegiate men's basketball. Murray State completed a 74-season run in the Ohio Valley Conference, a part of Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), in 2021–22, and moved to the Missouri Valley Conference on July 1, 2022. The Racers have played home games at the CFSB Center on their campus in Murray, Kentucky since 1998. Murray State made its 18th appearance in the NCAA tournament in 2022. Five times the Racers advanced in the tournament, most recently by defeating the University of San Francisco in 2022. In 1988, Murray State defeated NC State in the first round but lost to eventual national champion Kansas in the second round. In 2010, 22 years to the date of the 1988 win, the Racers beat Vanderbilt and lost to eventual runner-up Butler in the second round.
Thomas John "T. J." Sorrentine an American former basketball player and current associate head coach of Brown University. Sorrentine is widely known from his collegiate playing career at Vermont, hitting a three-pointer with 1:10 remaining to help the 13-seed Catamounts defeat fourth-seeded Syracuse 60–57 in overtime in the first round of the 2005 NCAA tournament for the school's first-ever tournament win.

The 2019–20 Rider Broncs men's basketball team represented Rider University in the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Broncs, led by 8th-year head coach Kevin Baggett, played their home games at the Alumni Gymnasium in Lawrenceville, New Jersey as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 18–12 overall, 12–8 in MAAC play to finish in a tie for third place. Before they could face #6 seeded Niagara in the MAAC tournament quarterfinals, all postseason tournaments were cancelled amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2019–20 Siena Saints men's basketball team represented Siena College in the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Saints, led by first-year head coach Carmen Maciariello, played their home games at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 20–10 overall, 15–5 in MAAC play to finish in first place. As the #1 seed in the MAAC tournament, they defeated #9 seed Manhattan 63–49 in the quarterfinals. However, the semifinals and championship game, and all postseason tournaments, were cancelled amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
