Humberto Jose Quintero is a Venezuelan former professional baseball player and coach. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a catcher from 2003 to 2014 most prominently as a member of the Houston Astros. The 2023 Detroit Tigers season was the team's 123rd season and its 24th at Comerica Park. This was the Tigers' third season under manager A. J. Hinch. The regular season began on March 30 and ended on October 1. This was the final season for long-time Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera, who announced he would retire from playing. The Tigers finished with a 78–84 record, second place in the AL Central behind the Minnesota Twins, and failed to make the playoffs for the ninth consecutive season.
