Marcus Thomsen (born 7 January 1998 in Voss) is a Norwegian athlete specialising in the shot put. [1] He won a gold medal at the 2017 European U20 Championships. He also reached the final at the European Indoor Championships finishing seventh.
His family moved from Voss to Aarhus, Denmark in 2012, and Thomsen spent his teenage years there. When breaking through as a youth athlete he did not represent any Norwegian club, eventually being recruited by Oslo-based club IK Tjalve. [2]
His personal bests in the event are 21.03 metres outdoors, achieved in June 2020 at Oslo, and 21.09 metres indoors, achieved in February 2021 at Växjö, Sweden, which is also the national record.

The Bergen Line, or the Bergen Railway, is a 371-kilometre (231 mi) long scenic standard gauge railway line between Bergen and Hønefoss, Norway. Andreas Thorkildsen is a retired Norwegian track and field athlete who competed in the javelin throw. He was the Olympic Champion in 2004 and 2008, European Champion in 2006 and 2010, and World Champion in 2009. He is the first male javelin thrower in history to simultaneously be European, World and Olympic Champion. He was also a three-time silver medalist at the World Championships, placing second in 2005, 2007 and 2011. His personal best of 91.59 m, set in 2006, is the Norwegian record.
Steinar Hoen is a retired Norwegian high jumper. He represented IK Tjalve during his senior career. He has been the meeting director for the Bislett Games since 2007. His indoor and outdoor bests are both 2.36 m – these are also the Norwegian records for the event.
Jaysuma Saidy Ndure is a Gambian-Norwegian sprinter. He is of Serer heritage of the noble Ndure family. In 2002, he went to Oslo, aged 18 and settled with his father who has lived in Norway since the 1970s. Having changed nationality from Gambia to Norway in 2006, he holds Norwegian records in the 100 and in the 200 metres, and is the seventh and fourth fastest European of all times on the two distances. He has a bronze medal from the African Championships and several top-three placings in IAAF Golden League meets and the IAAF World Athletics Final.

Haakon Werner Tranberg was a Norwegian sprinter who specialized in the 100 and 200 metres. He represented Kristiansands IF.
Kjell Ove Hauge is a retired Norwegian shot putter and discus thrower, turned educator, later Head teacher. As an athlete he represented Gloppen Athletics club. Since July 2013 Hauge is Principal at Kuben Upper Secondary School, the largest High School in Oslo.

The Voss Line is a railway line from Bergen to Voss in Vestland, Norway. It opened on 11 July 1883 and was extended to Oslo as the Bergen Line on 27 November 1909. It was built as 1,067 mm narrow gauge, but converted to 1,435 mmstandard gauge with the connection with the Bergen Line. It was electrified in 1954, and shortened by the Ulriken Tunnel in 1963.
Hjalmar "Hjalle" Johannessen was a Norwegian athlete who specialized in the 400 and 800 metres, and later a sports writer. He was born in Trondheim, and as an athlete he represented the local club SK Freidig; later Oslo TF.
Margrethe Renstrøm is a Norwegian long jumper. She has competed with modest results in international junior and senior championships, most notably the 2009 World Championships. She is best known for her personal best is 6.68 metres, achieved in July 2010 in Barcelona, which is the current Norwegian record. When she broke the record, it was the oldest existing athletics record in Norway. Renstrøm also has 13.25 metres in the triple jump, achieved in July 2006 at Bislett stadion.
Magnar Lundemo was a Norwegian cross-country skier and track and field athlete. As a skier he participated in two Olympic Games and placed fourth at the 1962 World Championships. In the athletics he took several national titles, and recorded one nineteenth place at the 1962 European Championships. He was also a coach.
