Maria Constantinescu (born 5 July 1956) is a Romanian former rower who competed in the 1980 Summer Olympics. [1]

Simona Păduraru is an international freestyle swimmer from Romania, who represented her native country at two consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 2000 in Sydney, Australia. Prior to that tournament, at the 2000 European Aquatics Championships in Helsinki, Finland, she was a member of the women's relay team that won the gold medal in the 4×200 m freestyle and the bronze medal in the 4×100 m freestyle. After retiring and giving birth to her first child, Maria-Catinca, in 2007, Simona continued taking part in swimming events. In 2018, she was awarded the title of Honorable Citizen of the city Bacău by the city mayor at that time.

Dănuț Dobre is a retired Romanian rower. Competing in different events he won four silver medals at two Olympics and two world championships between 1987 and 1992. After retiring from competitions in 1993, he worked in personal security, guarding Nicolae Văcăroiu, Ion Iliescu and Emil Constantinescu, among others.

Rodica Maria Şerban, née Florea is a Romanian rower. She achieved success in women's eight, where she won a gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics, bronze at the 2008 Summer Olympics and a silver medal at the 2005 World Rowing Championships.

Maria Ştefan is a retired Romanian sprint canoer who competed at the 1976, 1980 and 1984 Olympics. She won a gold medal in the K-4 500 m event in 1984 and placed fourth-fifth in the singles in 1976 and 1980. She won three bronze medals at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships, one each in the K-1 500 m (1983), the K-2 500 m (1981), and the K-4 500 m (1983) events. Her sister-in-law Maria Nichiforov is also a former Olympic canoer.

Maria Nichiforov was a Romanian sprint canoer. She won four medals at the world championships with a silver in 1974 and bronzes in 1973, 1974 and 1975. At the 1972 Olympics she won a bronze medal in the K-2 500 m event and placed sixth in the singles. She is a sister-in-law of the Olympic canoer Maria Ştefan-Mihoreanu.

She first competed as an elite rower at the 1998 World Rowing Championships where she came fifth with the women's four, and won gold with the women's eight.
