Maria Wasiak (born 6 July 1960,in Radom) is a Polish politician who served as Minister of Infrastructure and Development of Poland and the President of Polish State Railways.
Maria Wasiak was born in Radom and lived and studied there until matriculating at the University of Warsaw where she studied law. In 1990 her application to become a legal counsellor (solicitor) was approved. In 1994 Wasiak became a founding member of the Democratic Union,from which she later went on to head the regional branch of the Freedom Union party. She stayed in her position as leader of the party's regional branch until 1997. Wasiak is a graduate of the PoznańUniversity of Economics's business school.
In 1998 Maria Wasiak became the final deputy-voivode of the Radom Voivodeship,before that region's amalgamation with others to form the Masovian Voivodeship as part of the Polish territorial divisions reforms in 1999.
Since leaving the government Wasiak has held a number of fully managerial positions in the structures of the Polish State Railways,among others she has been Project Director (2000–2001),chairman of the board of PKP Przeowzy Regionalne (2001–2002),Director of the Office of Privatization and the executive director of promotion and social affairs for PKP.
Since 30 December 2010 when Andrzej Wach resigned from the post of President of PKP SA,Wasiak has been serving as the company's chairperson and CEO. Since 19 May 2011 Wasiak has been president of PKP SA. [1] On 22 September 2014 she was officially appointed the Minister of Infrastructure and Development. She remained in government until the 2015 election. In 2016 she was appointed vice president of Bydgoszcz.

Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship,also known as Cuiavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship,Kujawy-Pomerania Province,or simply Kujawsko-Pomorskie,is one of the 16 voivodeships (provinces) into which Poland is divided. Pabianice is a city in central Poland with 63,023 inhabitants (2021). Situated in the ŁódźVoivodeship,it is the capital of Pabianice County. She has served as European Commissioner for Regional Policy from 22 November 2004 until 4 July 2009,when she resigned to become a Member of European Parliament for the Civic Platform. In 2012,Professor Hübner became a member of the International Honorary Council of the European Academy of Diplomacy.

The history of rail transport in Poland dates back to the first half of the 19th century when railways were built under Prussian,Russian,and Austrian rule. Of course,"divided Poland" in the 19th century was the territory of the former Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth and not that one of today's Republic of Poland. After Polish independence was declared on 11 November 1918,the independent Polish state administered its own railways until control was surrendered to German and Soviet occupiers during World War II.
Ewa Bożena Kopacz is a Polish politician who has served as a Vice-President of the European Parliament since 2019. She previously was Marshal of the Sejm from 2011 to 2014,the first woman to hold the office,as well as Prime Minister of Poland from 2014 to 2015. In addition,Kopacz was Minister of Health from 2007 until 2011. Since 2001,she has been a member of Civic Platform,which she chaired from 2014 to 2016. Kopacz succeeded Donald Tusk as Prime Minister,becoming the second woman to hold the office after Hanna Suchocka (1992–1993). Her term as Prime Minister ended on 16 November 2015,when she was succeeded by Beata Szydło.
Krzysztof Józef Tchórzewski is a Polish engineer and politician. He serves as the Minister of Energy in the cabinet of Beata Szydło. Prior to this,Tchórzewski was a minister without portfolio.

High-speed rail service commenced in Poland on 14 December 2014,with the introduction of 20 non-tilting Pendolino trainsets operating on 4 designated lines radiating out from Warsaw. Polish State Railways started passenger service trains PKP Pendolino operating a speed 200 km/h on 80 km line Olszamowice-Zawiercie. From December 2017 there are two 200 km/h sections,136 km long in total. Polish state railways PKP launched the high-speed service under the Express Intercity Premium (EIP) brand name.
The Grodzisk Mazowiecki–Zawiercie railway better known as the Central Rail Line,designated by Polish national railway infrastructure manager PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe as rail line number 4,is a 224 km (139 mi) long railway line in Poland between Zawiercie outside the Upper Silesian Metropolitan Area and Grodzisk Mazowiecki in the suburbs of Warsaw.
