Marissa Mishelle (born Marissa Leigh Dubowy on October 9, 1989 in Phoenix, Arizona) is an American former singer. She has appeared on MTV's My Super Sweet 16 and My Super Sweet 16 Presents Exiled. [1] She was the lead singer for the band Defy Tomorrow but left to become a solo artist. She has performed on the 2008 Vans Warped Tour and Edge Fest. [2]
Marissa Mishelle's episode appeared as the season opener for the show's third season. The theme for her party was "Pretty in Pink" and was located in a mansion on Camelback Mountain in Phoenix, Arizona. The musical performer was Frankie J. Marissa Mishelle appeared on the first season of My Super Sweet 16 Presents: Exiled. In her episode, Marissa was sent to Kerala, India, where she lived in a chicken coup and helped an Indian family by cleaning up cow dung. [4]
Mishelle has been singing since the age of 5. Her single, "Just So Able", was played in a regular rotation on MTV and MTV Overdrive, and also was voted the #1 hit single on VH1's Music Nation. [5] In 2007, she became the lead vocalist for the band Defy Tomorrow and co-wrote the songs on their EP "One Through The Heart." [6] [7] After the band split up in 2008, Marissa Mishelle became a solo artist again and found music manager and developer Daniel Mirharooni, who soon got her signed to indie label SME Group. Marissa parted with SME later that year. On August 29, 2010 Marissa joined the band Minus Ned, [8] an up-and-coming band out of Woodbridge, Connecticut, currently based in Los Angeles, California, that blends rock, blues, jazz and funk with an appealing collection of vocals and well-written lyrics. It Dies Today is an American metalcore band formed in Buffalo, New York, in September 2001. The band achieved success in 2004 with the release of their debut album, The Caitiff Choir. After frontman Nicholas Brooks departed in 2006, just after the release of the band's sophomore effort Sirens, It Dies Today released Lividity in 2009 before going on hiatus in 2010. The band reunited briefly for a show in 2012, but the reunion paused again in 2015. On December 22, 2022, It Dies Today was announced as an act appearing at FurnaceFest 2023.

Their debut studio album, His Last Walk, with original vocalist Craig Mabbitt, was released April 10, 2007. Their second studio album, Witness, with current vocalist Beau Bokan, was released October 6, 2009. Their third studio album, Awakening, was released on October 4, 2011. Their fourth studio album, Hollow Bodies, was released on August 20, 2013. To Those Left Behind is the band's fifth studio album, released on September 18, 2015. Their sixth studio album, Hard Feelings, was released on March 23, 2018. Following Traynor's departure, Warth became the band's only remaining original member. In May 2023, the band returned from a brief hiatus with the release of "Wake the Dead", their first song in five years.
Anarbor is an American rock band from Phoenix, Arizona that was formed in 2003. The band is composed of lead vocalist/bassist Slade Echeverria, and guitarist Danny Stravers. Initially known as "Troop 101", the band later changed their name to "Anarbor". In April 2008, the band was signed to Hopeless Records while still attending high school in Arizona. Since then, the band has released four EPs and three studio albums.
A Skylit Drive is an American post-hardcore band from Lodi, California. The band has released one DVD, one EP and five studio albums: Wires...and the Concept of Breathing (2008), Adelphia (2009), Identity on Fire (2011), Rise (2013) and, most recently, ASD (2015). The band has toured internationally both as headliner and supporting act. In 2017, the band broke up after a dispute between Nick Miller and Michael Jagmin before reforming and continuing to tour as both a headliner and support act. Original vocalist Jordan Blake died in April 2023.
Eyes Set to Kill is an American post-hardcore and metalcore band from Tempe, Arizona. The Rodriguez sisters, lead guitarist Alexia and bassist Anissa, along with vocalist Lindsey Vogt started the band in 2003. After Lindsey's departure, Alexia assumed her position as lead vocalist as well as guitarist. Anissa left in late 2016 but returned to the band in 2023.
Of Mice & Men is an American rock band formed in Costa Mesa, California, in 2009. The band's line-up currently consists of drummer Valentino Arteaga, guitarists Phil Manansala and Alan Ashby, and bassist and lead vocalist Aaron Pauley. The group was founded by former lead vocalist Austin Carlile and former bassist Jaxin Hall in mid-2009 after Carlile's departure from Attack Attack!. Carlile departed from the band in December 2016 citing that a long-term health condition prompted his exit. After Carlile's departure, the band continued to pursue creating music with Pauley as the band's bassist and lead vocalist.
Millionaires is an American electronic music group currently consisting of Melissa Marie Green, Meredith Hurley, and Anissa Zermeno. The group, formed in August 2007, originally consisted of Green and her sister Allison Green, as well as friend Dani Artaud. The group are widely known for mixing heavily explicit lyrics with an electropop backing. Their image and lyrics generated strong controversy during their early years. The band released three EPs, several singles—including "Stay the Night", which managed to chart for a short time in the UK, and their debut album, Tonight, released in March 2013. In March 2016 they released a single with producer Wade Martin titled "When I'm Single". Much of their music style was ground-breaking in forming the crunkcore genre. The members are also widely known as being one of the first to become "Internet famous", gaining huge notoriety and popularity during the "Myspace era" of the mid 2000s within the emergence of social media. The Millionaires are also known for being in the scene genre today.
Artist vs. Poet was an American pop punk band from Fort Worth, Texas, United States, formed in late 2007 by Jason Dean, Craig Calloway, Jeff Olsen, Patrick Rigden, Joe Kirkland, Joe Westbrook, and Tarcy Thomason. After many changes in the band, Artist vs Poet is made up of Joe Kirkland, on vocals, guitar and keyboards, and Jason Dean, on bass and drums. Kirkland was also a contestant in the third season of the American NBC reality show The Voice.
