Mark De Man (born 27 April 1983) is a Belgian former professional footballer who played as a centre-back or right-back, most notably for Anderlecht. He moved to Dutch side Roda JC in the Eredivisie for an undisclosed fee in the 2008–09 season and then returned to Belgium to play for Germinal Beerschot. De Man made five appearances for the Belgium national team.
Born in Leuven, De Man played for OH Leuven during his youth before signing with Anderlecht in 1998. [1] In 2002, he was promoted to Anderlecht's first team where he established himself as a starter in 2005. [1]
In July 2008, with a year left on his contract with Anderlecht, De Man agreed a three-year contract with Eredivisie club Roda JC Kerkrade. [2]
After featuring sparingly for Roda, he left the club for Germinal Beerschot. [3] During his time at Germinal Beerschot, De Man was kept out of action by a knee injury and an ankle sprain. [4] In his three seasons at the club he made few appearances and joined his youth club OH Leuven of the Belgian Second Division in January 2011. [1]
In autumn 2011 De Man was close to a move to Scottish club Kilmarnock but after a trial with Kilmarnock, he moved to the Belgian third division club KSC Hasselt. [5] [6]
De Man received his first call-up to the Belgium national team in November 2006, for a UEFA Euro 2008 qualifier against Poland. [7]

The 2006–07 season of the Belgian First Division began on July 28, 2006, and concluded on May 19, 2007. The championship was decided in the penultimate round on May 12, 2007, when Anderlecht moved five points clear of runners-up Genk to retain the title and win their 29th League Championship. At the other end of the table, the struggle to avoid automatic relegation went on until the final round, and it was Lierse who eventually prevailed. Having spent the entire season at the bottom of the standings and only just managing to close an eleven-point gap up to 17th, the Lier side won their last game to climb past Beveren and send the latter down to the Second Division. However, Lierse went on to lose the playoffs and was relegated anyway.

Their cup run was unsuccessful, losing out to Rupel Boom form the third division in round 6, which was the round where the team entered the cup.

In the playoffs, OH Leuven won their group but then lost the playoff final to Gent. In the Belgian Cup, OHL immediately lost their first match just like the previous season, this time going out to Oostende.
