The Liberal–National Coalition,commonly known simply as the Coalition or the LNP,is an alliance of centre-right political parties that forms one of the two major groupings in Australian federal politics. The two partners in the Coalition are the Liberal Party of Australia and the National Party of Australia. Its main opponent is the Australian Labor Party (ALP);the two forces are often regarded as operating in a two-party system. The Coalition was last in government from the 2013 federal election until the 2022 Australian federal election. The group is led by Peter Dutton,who succeeded Scott Morrison after the 2022 Australian federal election.

Fiona Stuart Simpson is an Australian politician serving as Liberal National Party (LNP) member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly,representing Maroochydore since 1992. He served as the Minister for Transport and Main Roads Minister in the Newman Ministry from 2012 to 2015. In the Legislative Assembly of Queensland he represented the seat of Indooroopilly in Brisbane's inner-west,from 2009 to 2017. Indooroopilly was abolished at the 2017 state election and Emerson chose to contest the new seat of Maiwar which had a notional LNP margin of 3%;Emerson was unsuccessful in his bid,losing to the Greens candidate Michael Berkman.
Aidan Patrick McLindon is an Australian politician. He was first elected for the seat of Beaudesert to the Queensland State Parliament for the Liberal National Party at the 2009 state election. He resigned from that party to become an independent in May 2010,and in June 2010 he established The Queensland Party,which he merged with Katter's Australian Party in August 2011. He lost his seat to the LNP at the 2012 election. Bob Katter appointed McLindon as National Director for the newly created Katter's Australian Party. 18 months later McLindon resigned to spend more time with his family. McLindon established an independent political consultancy,AMac Consultants Pty Ltd,following the 2013 federal election.
Jarrod Pieter Bleijie is an Australian politician in the Queensland parliament. Bleijie was elected as the member for Kawana at the 2009 state election,and is the third member since the seat's inception at the 2001 state election. He served as Attorney-General of Queensland from 2012 until 2015.

The Opposition in the Australian state of Queensland comprises the largest party or coalition of parties not in Government. The Opposition's purpose is to hold the Government to account and constitute a "Government-in-waiting" should the existing Government fall. To that end,a Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Ministers for the various government departments question the Premier and Ministers on Government policy and administration,and formulate the policy the Opposition would pursue in Government. It is sometimes styled "His Majesty's Loyal Opposition" to demonstrate that although it opposes the Government,it remains loyal to the King.
