Haydarpaşa station is a railway station in Istanbul, that was, until 2012 the main city terminal for trains travelling to and from the Anatolian side of Turkey. It used to be Turkey's busiest railway station. The station building still houses the headquarters for District 1 of the State Railways but since a fire in 2010 the station has not been in use and its future remains uncertain.
Bandırma is a city in northwestern Turkey with 161,894 inhabitants as of 2021 on the Sea of Marmara. Bandırma is a district of Balıkesir Province. Bandırma is located in the south of the Marmara Sea, in the bay with the same name, and is an important port city. It is approximately two hours away from Istanbul, Izmir and Bursa.
The Republic Express was a passenger train operated by the Turkish State Railways. The train ran between Haydarpaşa Terminal in Istanbul and Ankara. After the Yüksek Hızlı Tren was put into service in 2009, the route of the Republic express was cut from Ankara to Eskişehir. On 31 January 2012, the Republic Express was discontinued due to the rehabilitation of the railway between Istanbul and Arifye and replaced with high speed service.
The Adapazarı Express officially listed as the Haydarpaşa-Adapazarı Regional was a regional rail service, that ran between Istanbul and Adapazarı. For the majority of its time in service, it was the second-busiest route of the Turkish State Railways, after the Adana-Mersin Regional. Trains served a heavily populated region on the north-east shores of the Sea of Marmara, and the Sakarya plain so service was frequent, with 12 trains daily in each direction in 2012. The Regional service also passed through these important districts of Istanbul: Kadıköy, Maltepe, Kartal, Pendik, Tuzla as well as Gebze, İzmit and Adapazarı. Because of the cities the trains service, it had earned the nickname Metropolitan Express. The train used to service Coşkunoğulları station until the TOE factory was closed in 1991. It also serviced Acısu, Tepetarla and Kurtköy stations until 1998. Due to the construction of the Istanbul-Ankara high-speed railway, the Haydarpaşa-Adapazarı Regional was discontinued on 1 February 2012 in order to rehabilitate the existing railway line. On 5 January 2015 service between Arifiye and Pendik was reopened with new faster regional service known as the Ada Express.
The State Railways of the Republic of Turkey, abbreviated as TCDD, is a government-owned national railway company responsible with the ownership and maintenance of railway infrastructure in Turkey, as well as the planning and construction of new lines. TCDD was formed on 4 June 1929 as part of the nationalisation of railways in Turkey.
Bandırma railway station is the main railway station in Bandırma, Turkey. It is located within the Port of Bandırma, adjacent to the Bandırma Ferry Terminal. It is the northern terminus of the 6th of September Express and the 17th of September Express, which operate daily to İzmir. Bandırma station is located at the end of a short branch with entry only from the north, requiring trains to back up into the station from the mainline at Bandırma Şehir station.
The 9th of September Express was an overnight train, operated by the Turkish State Railways, from Basmane Terminal, İzmir to Ankara Central Station, Ankara. The name of the service refers to 9 September 1922, the date on which the Greek occupation of İzmir ended after World War I.
Balıkesir station is the main railway station in Balıkesir, Turkey. The station was built in 1912 by the Smyrna Cassaba Railway as part of their railway from Manisa to Bandırma. TCDD Taşımacılık operates four daily intercity trains, two of which terminate at Balıkesir. The stations consists of one side platform and one island platform serving two tracks. A freight yard is adjacent to the platforms, but will be decommissioned and the station ground will be used solely for passenger trains.
Şakirpaşa railway station is a railway station in Seyhan, Adana, on the Adana-Mersin railway. The station consists of two side platforms serving two tracks. There is no station building, only a small shelter on each platform. TCDD Taşımacılık operates frequent regional rail service from Mersin to Adana, along with further service to İskenderun and İslahiye. Together with regional trains, two intercity trains stop at Şakirpaşa as well; the Erciyes Express to Kayseri and the Taurus Express to Konya.
The Aegean Express, numbered as B31, is a passenger train operating daily between Basmane railway station in İzmir to Eskişehir. The train operates as a local service on the route, calling at more stations than its counterpart, the Karesi Express; which also operates between İzmir and Balıkesir.
The Pamukkale Express is a passenger train operated daily by the Turkish State Railways between Eskişehir and Denizli. The train covers a distance of 421 km (262 mi) in a scheduled time of 7 hours and 55 minutes through mountainous and mostly rural central Anatolia.

The 6th of September Express is a 368 km (229 mi) long daily passenger train operated by TCDD Taşımacılık. The train runs from Basmane Terminal in İzmir to Soma, Manisa in western Turkey. The train provides local service on between the two destinations and the total scheduled time of a trip is 3 hours and 33 minutes.

The station is located along the D.200 state highway, near the villages of Akçapınar (northeast), Doğruca (northwest) and Yenisığırcı (west). TCDD Taşımacılık operates a daily train from Bandırma to İzmir, the southbound 6th of September Express. The 17th of September Express, which operates along the same route, does not stop at Sığırcı.
