Martin Lorenzo Santiago (born June 8, 1987), who goes by Marty and sometimes Marty Mar, is an American rapper in the Christian hip hop genre. He is part of the duo, Social Club Misfits, with his partner, Fern. His first extended play, Marty for President, was released in 2015. This was his breakthrough release upon the Billboard magazine charts.

Early life

Santiago was born, Martin Lorenzo Santiago, [1] on June 8, [2] 1987, [3] and he was raised in Broward County where he and Fernando established Social Club.

Music career

Marty's solo music recording career started in 2015, with the extended play, Marty for President, that was released on September 11, 2015, by Social Club. The extended play was his breakthrough release upon the Billboard magazine charts, where it placed on five charts, while it peaked at No. 64 on The Billboard 200, [4] No. 1 on Christian Albums, [5] No. 9 on Independent Albums, [6] No. 7 on Rap Albums, [7] and No. 14 on Digital Albums. Social Club Misfits, known as Social Club from 2012 until 2016, is a Christian hip hop duo from Miami, Florida made up of rappers FERN and Marty Mar. They formed their musical partnership in 2011 and released their first free album, entitled Misfits, on November 27, 2012. Then, the duo released two EPs entitled Misfits-EP, released on March 26, 2013, and Rejects. on April 2, 2013. The latter garnering some charting success. The third free album from the duo came out on September 13, 2013, entitled Summer of George. Their breakthrough album, Misfits 2, was self-released on April 29, 2014, and Us was released on March 24, 2015.

Blanca Elaine Reyes, who goes by the mononym Blanca, is a Puerto Rican-born American Contemporary Christian music singer-songwriter. Until 2013, she was a member of Group 1 Crew. Fernando Miranda, who goes by Fern and sometimes FERN,F.E.R.N. or Fernie, is a Puerto Rican rapper in the Christian hip hop genre. He is part of the duo Social Club Misfits, together with his partner, Marty Mar. His first EP, 68 and Douglas, was released in 2015. This was his breakthrough release upon the Billboard magazine charts.

Edward Berrios, better known by the stage name Datin, is an American Christian hip hop musician of Puerto Rican decent. He has released several projects including his hit mixtape "Turn It Off Vol 1", "The ROAR", "The Menace Mixtape", "Hell In The Hallway", as well as featured on many other popular artist albums. On February 12, 2016, he released his first studio album The Roar under God Over Money Records. This album was his breakthrough release and landed at the top of several Billboard magazine charts. Datin has also announced his upcoming Mixtape "CHH Ain't Dead Vol.1", which is expected to drop in early 2020.

His debut album, Papi Gordo was released the same year. He was previously a recording artist and worked heavily with California rapper G-Eazy.
