Martyn Day (born 26 March 1971) is a Scottish National Party (SNP) politician, who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Linlithgow and East Falkirk since 2015.
Born in Falkirk, Martyn Day was brought up in Linlithgow and attended Linlithgow Academy. Prior to his political career, he worked for the Bank of Scotland as a personal banking manager.
He was first elected to West Lothian Council at the 1999 Scottish local elections representing the Linlithgow ward. From 2007-12 the SNP led the administration of West Lothian Council and Day held the portfolio of Development and Transport on the Council Executive, and served on over 40 committees and outside bodies. After the 2012 Scottish local elections, the SNP found themselves in opposition in West Lothian and Day took on the post of spokesperson for Development and Transport and group whip.
Day was selected to contest the Linlithgow and East Falkirk constituency at the 2015 UK general election and defeated the sitting Labour MP, Michael Connarty. He received 32,055 votes and a 52.0% share of the vote. He retained his seat at the 2017 snap election; albeit with a greatly reduced majority of 2,919 votes.
Michael Connarty is a British Labour Party politician, who served as the Member of Parliament for Linlithgow and Falkirk East from 2005 until 2015, and Falkirk East (1992–2005).

The 2012 West Lothian Council election took place on 3 May 2012 to elect members of West Lothian Council. The election will use the 9 wards created as a result of the Local Governance (Scotland) Act 2004, with each ward electing three or four Councillors using the single transferable vote system a form of proportional representation, with 33 Councillors being elected. The Bathgate Ward gained an additional seat for the 2012 elections. JAMAL The election saw Labour remain the largest party on the Council as they gained 2 seats. The Scottish National Party also made 2 net gains and significantly increased their vote share, outpolling Labour in terms of votes cast. The Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party retained their single seat on the Council and so to did the Independents. The Action to Save St. John's Hospital group were completely wiped out from the authority losing all of their 3 seats.
