They then defeated the Sydney Thunder by 27 runs in a semi-final at Optus Stadium to set up a re-match of the previous year's final against the Sydney Sixers. In the championship decider,held at Adelaide Oval,the Scorchers suffered a heavy nine-wicket loss to once again finish the tournament as runners-up.

She made her debut for Western Australia on 26 October 2013 against Queensland. After a period away,she returned to Western Australia ahead of the 2016–17 WNCL season,and made her maiden half-century in her second game back against South Australia. She made her WBBL debut for the Perth Scorchers in the 2017–18 WBBL season. Peschel has also represented Australia in indoor cricket.

Coached by Shelley Nitschke and captained by Sophie Devine,the Scorchers played the entirety of WBBL|06 in a bio-secure Sydney hub due to the COVID-19 pandemic and,for the second year in a row,were eliminated in the semi-finals. In her first season with the Scorchers,Devine was named the league-wide Player of the Tournament,earning the same award that she won in WBBL|05 while playing for the Adelaide Strikers.
Amy Louise Edgar is an Australian cricketer who plays as a right-handed batter and right-arm medium pace bowler for Western Australia in the Women's National Cricket League (WNCL) and Perth Scorchers in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL). She made her maiden WNCL half-century on 1 February 2019,scoring 67 in a 78-run loss to Tasmania. Edgar spent part of the 2019–20 WBBL with the Perth Scorchers as a local replacement player but did not make an appearance. After a season away from the Scorchers,she made her debut for the side against Sydney Sixers in the 2021–22 WBBL
Kate Peterson is an Australian cricketer who plays for the Sydney Thunder in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL). An all-rounder,she bowls right-arm fast-medium and bats right-handed. Peterson joined the Thunder ahead of the 2019–20 WBBL season,but had to wait until the following season to make her debut against the Perth Scorchers on 4 November 2020. She did not bat or bowl in her only match for the season,which the Thunder won by 24 runs. On 18 May 2021,it was announced that she had joined the South Australian Scorpions ahead of the 2021–22 Women's National Cricket League season.

They hosted the championship decider at Perth Stadium on 27 November 2021,defeating the Adelaide Strikers by 12 runs to win a maiden WBBL title. Marizanne Kapp was named Player of the Final for her influential all-round performance,scoring 31* off 23 deliveries and producing bowling figures of 1/25 from four overs. For the second consecutive season,batter Beth Mooney was the league's leading run-scorer.
