Matthew Jonathan Darey (born 29 November 1968) [1] is an English trance music producer and performer. Darey has sold over two million albums and singles with numerous top 40 chart hits. [2] [3]

Music career

Darey was born in Leicester, England. [4] Some of his earliest solo work was under the name Lost Tribe, releasing the EP The Distant Voices in 1997. [5] The single "Gamemaster" reached number 24 on the UK Singles Chart in 1999. [6] [7] [8]

In addition to production and remixing work for other artists, Darey began releasing music under his own name in 2004. [1] In 2005 he debuted a new show on Digitally Imported called Nocturnal, which became a weekly show the following year. [9] [10] His 2007 single "Beautiful Day" reached the top 25 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music Club Play and hitting the Top 20 on the Hot Dance Airplay chart in the United States. [11] Darey has made several appearances in the annual worldwide top 100 DJs poll, including peaking at #34 in 2008. [12]

Darey owns a record label, Darey Products, featuring releases from himself and upcoming artists. [13] In 2015 he changed his stage name to Matt Nouveau to signal a change in musical direction.[ citation needed ] As of 2021 Darey hosts a monthly Internet radio show on Digitally Imported's European Trance station. Mauro Picotto is an Italian electronic music producer and DJ, and previously a member of the Italian Euro house group "R.A.F.". Kelly Llorenna is an English dance music singer, who was born in Slough, Berkshire and raised in Oldham, Greater Manchester. Since then she has had six UK top 10 singles.

"Let Me Go, Lover!", a popular song, was written by Jenny Lou Carson and Al Hill, a pen name used by Fred Wise, Kathleen Twomey, and Ben Weisman. It is based on an earlier song called "Let Me Go, Devil", about alcoholism.

Eric Miller is an American house music DJ, record producer and remixer. As E-Smoove, he worked for a number of years with Steve "Silk" Hurley and Maurice Joshua, before he hit the U.S. Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in 1998 with "Deja Vu", which climbed to No. 16. The song reached No. 63 on the UK Singles Chart. His next U.S. dance chart entry came in 2002, when "Insatiable" hit No. 1. "Insatiable" was released under the pseudonym Thick Dick. It peaked at No. 35 in the UK. Both tracks featured lead vocals by his wife Latanza Waters.

Agnelli & Nelson are the collective name of Northern Irish music producers Christoper James Agnew and Robert Frederick Nelson, writers and producers of electronic dance music who have worked in the genre of trance from 1997. They also produced music under the names Afterburn, Cortez, Green Atlas, Quincey & Sonance and The A&N Project.

Paul Kevin Masterson is a Northern Irish DJ and record producer, originally from Belfast and now living in London. He is best known for recording as Yomanda. He is also part of the dance music duo Hi-Gate, along with BBC Radio 1 DJ Judge Jules.

Tzant were a British electronic music group, who had three top 40 singles between 1996 and 1998. Their debut "Hot and Wet ", featuring Verna Francis, made number 36 on the UK Singles Chart during September 1996, and two further singles would make the top 40 in 1998. Tzant's first two releases also found moderate success on the U.S. Hot Dance Club Play chart.

John Graham is a British record producer, songwriter, vocalist who is also known under the pseudonyms Quivver, Skanna, Stoneproof and Space Manoeuvres. He was a former member of music production team Tilt and has recorded and toured with the electronic group Hybrid in the past.

The Freeloaders were an English house music duo formed in 2004 by Kevin O'Toole and Dale Longworth, the founder members of N-Trance.

Krush were a UK dance music group, who had a crossover hit single with "House Arrest" in 1987.

Johnna Lee Cummings is an American pop music singer known for her lead vocals with the early 1990s girl group Boy Krazy; under the direction of Stock Aitken Waterman, Boy Krazy became a one-hit wonder on American Top 40 music charts with their hit song "That's What Love Can Do" which was released in 1991, but became a bigger hit after it was remixed and re-released two years later.

"I'm Still Waiting" is a popular song, written and produced by Deke Richards and recorded by Diana Ross; it first appeared on Ross's 1970 album Everything Is Everything. The song reached No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart in August 1971. It also reached number one in Ireland.

The Space Brothers are a British trance music duo comprising Richard 'Ricky' Louis Simmonds and Stephen Christopher Jones, noted for producing under a variety of pseudonyms such as Chakra, Lustral, Ascension, Essence, Ultra High, Lamai and The Realm.

Kate Cameron is an English house and trance music singer with a rich alto voice. She signed with MCA in the dance/pop group GMT in 1991, releasing "Feel So Good" and "Inner City Blues" before they were dropped in 1993. Cameron then worked as a session singer, coming to prominence via her involvement with Norman Cook as the vocalist on his Pizza Man single, "P.A.S.S.I.O.N." which went on to be a hit for Jon of the Pleased Wimmin, peaking at number 27 on the UK chart in 1995. Her vocals also featured at this time on Zion Train's album Grow Together, singing lead on "Stand Up and Fight" and the single "Rise" released in 1996 on China. She subsequently made a name as the credited vocalist and writer on a multitude of dance and trance releases.

"A Woman in Love" is a popular song. It was written by Frank Loesser and published in 1955. It was introduced in Samuel Goldwyn's 1955 cinematic adaptation of the Broadway musical Guys and Dolls, for which Loesser contributed three new songs – including "A Woman in Love" – which had not been in the original stage production. In the film, it was sung as a duet between Marlon Brando and Jean Simmons. The cover version by Frankie Laine reached number 1 in the UK Singles Chart in 1956.

Slusnik Luna are a Finnish electronic music duo formed in Helsinki in 1994, composed of Niko Nyman and Nicklas Renqvist. The pair play and produce trance and house tracks. They also produced soundtracks for the Amiga CD32 version of the video game, Super Stardust, (1995) published by Team17 and developed by Bloodhouse.

J. J. Barrie is a Canadian songwriter and singer. He is best known for his 1976 UK chart-topper "No Charge".

<span class="mw-page-title-main">1998 (instrumental)</span> Instrumental song

"1998" is an instrumental music track by British trance act Binary Finary, originally released in 1997 on the Aquarius label with "Zapya" as the B-side. When released the following year in 1998 on the Positiva label, the single peaked at No. 24 on the UK Singles Chart. The track was subsequently remixed numerous times under the title of the year the remix was produced. "1999" peaked at No. 11 and "2000" reached No. 84 in the UK.
