Matthew Jacob Kingsley (born July 11, 1986) is an American basketball coach and former professional basketball player, best known for his college career at Stephen F. Austin State University.
Kingsley, a 6'9" power forward, played one season at Cypress Creek High School in Houston, Texas. [1] He was largely recruited by Division II and junior college programs. Danny Kaspar, head coach of Stephen F. Austin, suggested Kingsley walk-on to the team, before offering him a scholarship and having him redshirt his first year. [2] During his career at Stephen F. Austin, Kingsley scored 1,504 points and was named to All-Southland Conference teams for three consecutive years. As a senior in 2008–09, Kingsley averaged 15.8 points and 7.7 rebounds per game, earning Southland Conference Player of the Year and AP honorable mention All-American honors. [1]
After not being selected in the 2009 NBA draft, Kingsley signed his first professional contract with BC Šiauliai in Lithuania. [3] He ended up playing for four teams in four countries during the 2009–10 season. [4] For 2010–11, Kinglsey signed with Bàsquet Mallorca, where he played until rupturing his Achilles tendon in December, 2010. [5] After recovering, he played the 2011–12 season with the Svendborg Rabbits in Denmark. [6]
Daniel Joseph Kaspar is an American college basketball coach. Kaspar served as men's basketball head coach at the University of the Incarnate Word, Stephen F. Austin State University, and Texas State University. He has also been an assistant coach at Lamar, Midwestern State and Baylor.

The Lumberjacks finished the season with a record of 28–6, 18–0 in Southland play to win the regular season championship. They won the Southland tournament championship to earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. As a #14 seed, they upset #8 ranked West Virginia in the first round before losing in the final seconds to Notre Dame in the second round.

The 2019 Southland Conference men's basketball tournament was held in Katy, Texas at the Merrell Center from March 13–17, 2019. The 2nd seeded Abilene Christian Wildcats won the conference tournament championship and received the conference automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Two other teams also received bids to post season tournaments. Conference regular season champion, Sam Houston State, received the conference automatic bid to the NIT tournament. New Orleans received a bid to the CIT tournament.

They were champions of the Southland Conference tournament to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament – the first appearance in school history. As No. 14 seed in the South region, they lost in the Round of 64 to No. 3 seed Syracuse.
