Matthew Morison (born April 9, 1987) is a Canadian amateur Snowboarder who currently resides in Kamloops, British Columbia. Morison has qualified to compete at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia. Matthew, a native of Burketon, Ontario began snowboarding at the Oshawa Ski Club at a young age. By Age 11, Morison was already beating senior men in races. [1] Matthew competes in Alpine disciplines, Parallel GS and Parallel Slalom. He attended Courtice Secondary School.
Matthew was featured in the MTV Canada series 'Summer Sessions' alongside fellow national riders like Jasey-Jay Anderson and Michael Lambert. [2] He also featured in the follow-up MTV show Over the Bolts which followed the Canadian national team over the season.
Matthew finished the 2007–08 season ranked 4th overall in the FIS Snowboard World Cup, in the 2008–09 season he ranked 6th overall. [3] He has reached the podium nine separate occasions at World Cup races including three Parallel GS golds in Limone Piemonte, Italy, Valmalenco, Italy, and Furano, Japan. [4] Matt won a bronze at the 2009 FIS World Championships, the bronze was Morison's first world championship medal.
The FIS Alpine Ski World Cup is the top international circuit of alpine skiing competitions, launched in 1966 by a group of ski racing friends and experts which included French journalist Serge Lang and the alpine ski team directors from France and the USA. It was soon backed by International Ski Federation president Marc Hodler during the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 1966 at Portillo, Chile, and became an official FIS event in the spring of 1967 after the FIS Congress at Beirut, Lebanon.

Piero "Pierino" Gros is a former World Cup alpine ski racer from northwestern Italy. He won the gold medal in slalom at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck, and was the World Cup overall champion in 1974.
Theodore Sharp Ligety is a retired American alpine ski racer, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, and an entrepreneur, having cofounded Shred Optics. Ligety won the combined event at the 2006 Olympics in Turin and the giant slalom race at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi. He is also a five-time World Cup champion in giant slalom. Ligety won the gold medal in the giant slalom at the 2011 World Championships. He successfully defended his world title in giant slalom in 2013 in Schladming, Austria, where he also won an unexpected gold medal in the super-G and a third gold medal in the super combined.
Maëlle Danica Ricker is a Canadian retired snowboarder, who specialised in snowboard cross. She won an Olympic gold medal in the snowboard cross event at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, to become the first Canadian woman to win a gold medal on home soil at the Olympics. She is also the 2013 World Champion and two-time Winter X Games Champion.
Chandra Crawford is a Canadian cross-country skier who has competed since 2001 at the age of 16. Prior to this, she was a biathlete for five years. She was born in Canmore, Alberta, Canada.

Carlo Janka is a Swiss former alpine ski racer. Born in Obersaxen, in the canton of Graubünden, he had the winter sports facilities right in front of his home. Janka has won gold medals at both the Winter Olympics and the World Championships, as well as one World Cup overall title, one discipline title and also, one unofficial alpine combined title.
Herbert Plank is a former Italian alpine skier who competed in the 1976 Winter Olympics and in the 1980 Winter Olympics.
Kjetil Jansrud is a Norwegian former World Cup alpine ski racer and Olympic champion. He competed in all alpine disciplines apart from slalom, and his best event was the giant slalom where he has six World Cup podiums and an Olympic silver medal. Since 2012, he had concentrated on the speed events, where all but two of his World Cup victories had come. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, he won the super-G and placed third in the downhill. At the World Championships in 2019 at Åre, Jansrud won gold in the downhill.
Michael Lambert is a Canadian snowboarder who currently resides in Toronto, Ontario. Michael competes in the Alpine disciplines, Parallel GS and Parallel Slalom. Lambert has been on the Canadian National Team since 2002 and is currently working with coaches Mark Fawcett and Sylvain Jean. He is also the Slap cup champion of Stoney island
Kimiko Zakreski is a Canadian snowboarder who currently resides in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Zakreski competes in alpine disciplines, Parallel GS and Parallel Slalom.

Alena Igorevna Zavarzina is a Russian former snowboarder specializing in parallel slalom and parallel giant slalom disciplines. She is the 2011 World champion and bronze medalist from the 2014 Winter Olympics in parallel giant slalom. She won the parallel giant slalom crystal globe in 2016/17 World Cup season.
Matts Olsson is a Swedish former World Cup alpine ski racer who raced in the giant slalom discipline.
Ester Ledecká is a Czech snowboarder and alpine skier. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, Ledecká won gold medals in the super-G in alpine skiing and in the parallel giant slalom in snowboarding, becoming the first person to not only compete in the Winter Olympics using two different types of equipment but to go further and win two gold medals and do so at the same Winter Olympics. She was the second woman to win an Olympic gold in two separate disciplines but the first to do so at the same Winter Olympics. She was the first Czech to win the parallel giant slalom in snowboarding at the FIS Snowboard World Cup.
Matt Horne is a Canadian snowboarder, Over his ten-year snowboarding career, he competed in over 125 race events in giant slalom, parallel slalom, parallel giant slalom and snowboard cross.

The men's overall in the 2020 FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup consisted of 36 events in 6 disciplines: downhill (DH), Super-G (SG), giant slalom (GS), slalom (SL), Alpine combined (AC), and parallel (PAR). The season was originally scheduled to have 44 men's races plus a mixed team event, but a race in Japan plus final the seven men's races and the mixed team event were all cancelled, as discussed below.
The men's overall in the 2023 FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup consisted of 38 events in four disciplines: downhill (DH), super-G (SG), giant slalom (GS), and slalom (SL). The fifth and sixth disciplines in FIS ski events, parallel (PAR). and Alpine combined (AC), had all events in the 2022–23 season cancelled, either due to the schedule disruption cased by the COVID-19 pandemic (AC) or due to bad weather (PAR). The original calendar contained 43 events, but in addition to the parallel, four downhills were cancelled over the course of the season.
