The 1920 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the VII Olympiad and commonly known as Antwerp 1920, were an international multi-sport event held in 1920 in Antwerp, Belgium.

Luxembourg sent a delegation to compete in the 2006 Winter Olympics, held in Turin, Italy from 10 to 26 February 2006. Luxembourg returned to the Winter Olympic Games after missing the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. Sylvia Cheeseman is an English retired sprinter. Competing in relays, she won two medals at the 1950 British Empire Games and one at the 1952 Olympics. Individually she was eliminated in the 200 m at the 1948 Olympics and in the 1952 Olympics she won her heat but was eliminated in the semi-final. She won the Amateur Athletic Association of England title in this event in 1946–1949 and 1951–1952, placing second in 1950.
