Media Chinese International Limited is a Chinese language media platform targeting Chinese readers in major Chinese communities in southeast Asia. Its headquarters is located in Hong Kong. [1] [2] Tan Sri Datuk Tiong Hiew King is the chairman. It was formed by the merger of Ming Pao Enterprise (Hong Kong),Sin Chew Media Corporation (Malaysia) and Nanyang Press Holdings (Malaysia) in April 2008 and its history can be traced back to the Malaysian operation units of Sin Poh (Star News) Amalgamated which was founded by Aw Boon Haw in 1941. It is the first entity dually listed on the mainboards of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong and the Bursa Malaysia. Media Chinese's product portfolio comprises 5 daily newspapers in 13 editions and 3 free newspapers with a total daily circulation of about 1 million copies,as well as about 30 magazines. The Group has also expanded its business into digital media. Media Chinese is the proprietor of Life Magazines,the largest Chinese language magazine publisher in Malaysia,and is the major shareholder of One Media Group Limited (SEHK : 426).
Its head office is in the Ming Pao Industrial Centre (traditional Chinese :明報工業中心; simplified Chinese :明报工业中心) in Chai Wan. [3]

Media Chinese has over 30 magazine titles comprising categories of entertainment and lifestyle,technology,children and automotive.
There are another 21 magazine titles published under the Life Magazines,which is a member of the Nanyang Press Group. They include Feminine (Chinese:風采),New Tide (Chinese:新潮),Oriental Cuisine (Chinese:美味風采),New Icon for Him (Chinese:時尚男人),Long Life (Chinese:大家健康),etc.

In the 1990s,Ming Pao established four overseas branches in North America;each provides independent reporting on local news and collects local advertisements. Currently,of the overseas editions,only the two Canadian editions remain:Ming Pao Toronto and Ming Pao Vancouver. In a 2022 survey from the Chinese University of Hong Kong sampling 994 local households,Ming Pao was listed as the second most credible paid newspaper in Hong Kong.

Due to the Newspaper and Printing Presses Act enacted in 1974,starting from 1975,the two newspaper in Singapore and Malaysia had a separate ownership,which the Singapore edition was owned by Sin Chew Jit Poh (Singapore) Limited;the Malaysian edition was sold by Sin Poh Amalgamated in 1982.

Eddie Lau Pui-Kei is a fashion designer in Hong Kong. Lau has worked in the fashion industry since 1962 until his retirement in 1999,but continues working in fashion. Sing Sian Yer Pao Daily News formerly Sing Sian Yer Pao is a Thai newspaper that is published in Chinese language. During its peak Sing Sian Yer Pao sold 600,000 copies a day and was known as the "Chinese Thairath". It was founded by millionaire Aw Boon Haw,a Chinese Hakka diaspora,as a sister newspaper of the "Star Newspapers" in Singapore,Malaysia and Hong Kong as well as other locations. However,by ownership,they are currently not related;sister newspapers of Sing Sian Yer Pao currently is the publication by Nanfang Media Group of the People's Republic of China.
Aw family is the family member of Aw Chu Kin and his descendant. Aw Chu Kin started his business in Burma,which his two sons expanded it into a multi-national conglomerate that from Chinese medicines to newspaper,as well as bank,insurance and real estate. However,the family started to decline in the third generation,by the takeover of family-owned listed company Haw Par Brothers International in Singapore in 1971,which saw Sin Poh Amalgamated,Chung Khiaw Bank and Haw Par Brothers (Thailand) were spin-off from the listed company. Before the dismantle,the key position of the business empire was served by third-generation member and their spouse,which they were removed after the takeover. However,Sally Aw,granddaughter of Aw Chu Kin,remained as one of the influential media tycoon in Hong Kong in 1990s,until forced to sell her Sing Tao Holdings in 1999 due to financial difficulties.
