Medusablennius is a monotypic genus of combtooth blenny, its only member being Medusablennius chani, [2] which is known only from a single reef in the Tuamotu Archipelago. It was recorded from surge channels in tidal flats. [1] This species is characterised by having numerous cirii on its head which is why Springer named the genus after the gorgon Medusa, while the specific name honours William L. Chan who noted that the type was likely to be a species new to science. [3]

Ribeiroclinus eigenmanni is a species of clinid found along the Atlantic coast of South America from southern Brazil to central Argentina where it has been found at a depth of about 17 metres (56 ft). Enneapterygius tutuilae, known commonly as the high-hat triplefin or rosy cheek threefin, is a species of triplefin blenny in the genus Enneapterygius. It was described by David Starr Jordan and Alvin Seale in 1906. This species occurs from the eastern Indian Ocean around the Cocos (Keeling) Islands east to French Polynesia. Its specific name refers to the Samoan island of Tutuila where the type was collected.

Enneapterygius hollemani, or Holleman's triplefin, is a species of triplefin blenny in the genus Enneapterygius. It is found only on the central and southern coasts of Oman. It was described by John E. Randall in 1995 and was named in honour of the ichthyologist Wouter Holleman of the South African Institute for Aquatic Biodiversity.

Enneapterygius randalli, the Rapa triplefin, is a species of triplefin blenny in the genus Enneapterygius. It was described by Ronald Fricke in 1997. who honoured the American ichthyologist John Ernest Randall in its specific name, Randall collected many of the type series. This species is known only from French Polynesia where it is found off Rapa Iti and Marotiri in the southern Austral Islands.

Its specific name references the Leeuwin Current which influences the coastal areas in which this fish occurs.

Scalyhead triplefin Species of fish

Norfolkia squamiceps, known commonly as the Scalyhead triplefin, is a species of triplefin blenny in the genus Norfolkia. It was described by Allan Riverstone McCulloch and Edgar Ravenswood Waite in 1916. Under the synonym Norfolkia lairdi it was the type species of Fowler's new genus. This species has been recorded from off Queensland, Norfolk Island, Lord Howe Island, New Caledonia and the Loyalty Islands. The adults occur in tidal pools among areas of coral reef.

The Mexican rivulus is a species of killifish from the family Rivulidae which is endemic to Mexico where it is found in the Papaloapan and Coatzacoalcos River basins. This annual killifish grows to a total length of 4 cm (1.6 in). It is the only known species in its genus, but its exact taxonomic position remains uncertain, as it has not been included in any phylogenetic study. This species was described by Robert Rush Miller and Carl Leavitt Hubbs as Rivulus robustus in 1974, it was reclassified in the monotypic genus Millerichthys in 1995, the generic name honouring Robert Rush Miller.

Ferrer's goby is a species of goby native to the Mediterranean Sea where it occurs in inshore waters inhabiting areas with sandy substrates. This species grows to a length of 3.5 centimetres (1.4 in) TL. This species is the only known member of its genus. The specific name honours Jaume Ferrer Aledo (1854-1956), a pharmacist and amateur ichthyologist who studied the fish fauna in the Balearic Islands.
