The Mega Kid MK-1000 is a Famiclone [1] with a built-in Family BASIC compatible keyboard, marketed as an "educational computer".
The system comes with two black PlayStation look-alike controllers and a black NES Zapper clone resembling a submachine gun. All are connected with 9-pin DB connectors, as found on most Famiclones.
It has a composite video output and a mono audio output, as well as a rather crude RF modulator antenna output, unfiltered (the output appears on several TV channels) and unshielded from interferences.
In its box is contained a Famicom cartridge containing several applications that work with the keyboard, such as crude word processors, keyboard exercises, mathematical games, G-BASIC and a handful of first generation Famicom/NES games such as F 1 Race , Track & Field and "Jewel Tetris".
This cartridge also contains an additional 64 K static RAM chip, mainly for use with the provided G-BASIC, a dialect of the BASIC programming language designed for the Famicom. However, no CMOS backup memory is provided, so any typed-in program or text will be lost upon rebooting or switching the power off.
It works with standard Famicom cartridges, as well as NES cartridges with the use of an adaptor.

The Game Axe is an unlicensed handheld version of the Famicom, made by the Taiwanese hardware manufacturer Legend Technology Co., LTD. Launched in 1989 it made a comeback around 2000, being sold in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Japan under the Redant brand. It is a portable Famiclone that can play Famicom games, and by using the included adapter, American and European Nintendo Entertainment System games.
In video game parlance, a famiclone is a hardware clone of the Family Computer/Nintendo Entertainment System. Multi-memory controllers or memory management controllers (MMC) are different kinds of special chips designed by various video game developers for use in Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) cartridges. These chips extend the capabilities of the original console and make it possible to create NES games with features the original console cannot offer alone. The basic NES hardware supports only 40KB of ROM total, up to 32KB PRG and 8KB CHR, thus only a single tile and sprite table are possible. Dendy is a series of home video game consoles that were unofficial hardware clones of Nintendo's third-generation Famicom system. Produced from late 1992, Dendy consoles were manufactured in Taiwan using Chinese components on behalf of the Russian company Steepler. These consoles were primarily sold in Russia. Over time, production expanded to include assembly at the Chinese Subor factory and the Russian Tensor factory in Dubna, Moscow Oblast. The Dendy consoles were based on Japanese hardware designs and cartridge formats, which differed slightly from their American counterparts.

Family BASIC is a consumer product for programming on the Family Computer video game console. Family BASIC was launched on June 21, 1984, to consumers in Japan by Nintendo, in cooperation with Hudson Soft and Sharp Corporation. Famicom Data Recorder (HVC-008) is a compact cassette tape data interface introduced in 1984, for the Famicom which had been introduced in 1983. Final Fantasy VII is an unlicensed "Shanzhai" demake of SquareSoft's role-playing video game Final Fantasy VII, originally released for PlayStation in 1997. The two-dimensional "port" was developed and published by Chinese company Shenzhen Nanjing Technology for Subor, a Famiclone. The cartridge itself is unique, as it is structurally different from licensed Famicom cartridges in terms of hardware and programming.
