Mejibray was a Japanese visual kei [1] rock band which came together on June 18, 2011, [2] founded by their vocalist, Tsuzuku, and signed on to White Side Group. Their musical style is heavy metal and hard rock, while also taking elements from genres such as djent or nu metal. The band currently consists of the members MiA (guitar), and Meto (drums). Previously, Ippu had been the guitarist of Mejibray, but left in October 2011. [3] It was revealed on December 31, 2017, by MEJIBRAY's management that bassist Koichi and vocalist Tsuzuku had terminated their contracts with the company, leaving the future of the band uncertain. Career

Early years (2011-2013)

Mejibray was initially formed in March 2011 as a solo project by former VanessA frontman Genki. Three months later, Genki changed his name to Tsuzuku and Mejibray became an official band formed by his two VanessA bandmates: bassist Koichi and guitarist Ippu, as well as drummer Meto and guitarist MiA. Ippu soon left the band in October, shortly after the release of the first single: "Killing Me", by the label White Side Group, on August 24. The first EP, Silvers.exe, was released in November and reprinted in July of the following year. [6] [7]

In 2012, they released the single "Sabato", which peaked at the fourth position on Oricon's Indies charts. The first studio album was released on May 2, Emotional [KARMA]. [6] At the end of the year, tickets for consecutive performances at Ikebukuro Black Hole on August 31, September 1 and September 2 were sold out, shortly after the band's formation. [8] The single "Sadisgate" was released on September 5, "Emily" on October 3 and the limited single "Toroshina" on August 31, which was only sold on that day's show. [9]

In January 2013 they released the single "Avalon" and the following month "Die Kusse", both composed by MiA. [10] In early May they released Messiah.bat EP and in June they announced the release of three consecutive singles: "A Priori" in September, "Shueei" in October and "Decadance - Counting Goats… if I can't be yours -" in November. SM and first international show (2014-2016)

In early 2014, a busy year for Mejibray, they gave a surprise performance at the band's Ecthelion concert on February 28. [12] The band released "Raven" in March and in April released a live DVD and made a cover of "Porno Star" in Sads tribute album, M. [13] In May, they released the best album SM, which reached the twelfth position on the Oricon Albums Chart. [14] [15] Also in the same month they would embark on the national tour in celebration of their 3 years of career and promotion to SM, however it was postponed to September due to the health condition of Meto. Soon after, in October, they embarked on a tour together with Born. [16] In November the band made their first international performance in Shanghai together with Nightmare and Royz. [17] On December 3, Mejibray released their second album THE "420" THEATRICAL ROSES and ended the year with a performance in Shibuya in December 22, which was recorded and released on DVD with all 22 songs played on the show. In 2015 they released the single "Nepenthes" on April 1 and "Eiki" on May 6. [20] The mini album Venoms.app was released on August 5 and shortly after on October 7 they released the single "Paradigm Paradox" and on November 4 "SECRET No.03". [21] The following year they released the single "Uka" on November 11. [22]

Hiatus (2017)

On May 3, they released their second best album SM#2 and the first SM was reprinted, this time with a bonus track voted by the fans. [23] They embarked on a tour with Arlequin and Diaura in the middle of 2017. [24] On December 31, the band's staff revealed that Koichi and Tsuzuku ended their contracts, starting their hiatus and leaving the band's future uncertain. [4] Soon after, the duo announced their new project: 8P-SB with visual elements and J-pop music. Tsuzuku changed his stage name back to Genki. [25]

Angelo is a Japanese visual kei rock supergroup, formed in 2006 by three members of Pierrot. Originally a trio of vocalist Kirito, bassist Kohta and drummer Takeo, guitarists Karyu (ex-D'espairsRay) and Giru (ex-Vidoll) joined in 2011. After 15 years and 13 studio albums, Angelo began an indefinite hiatus following two concerts at Yoyogi Daini Taiikukan on January 15 and 16, 2022.

Diaura is a four-member Japanese visual kei rock band, currently signed to their own record label, called NDG, they were formerly under Galaxy Inc. and then Ains. The band formed in December 2009 by yo-ka, Kei (ex-Valluna), Yuu (ex-Valluna), and later recruited Shoya. Their current fourth member and then-support drummer, Tatsuya, was later on added to the group as an official member after ex-drummer Yuu's departure from the group due to tendinitis. Their debut single "Shitsuyoku no Seiiki" was released on January 19, 2011. Diaura released their first full studio album Genesis on March 21, 2012 and their second full studio album Focus on December 4, 2013.

Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas(sic) is a Japanese electronicore band from Kobe that was formed in summer 2008. The band currently consists of vocalist So, keyboardist Minami, guitarist Taiki, drummer Tomonori, and bassist Tetsuya. They are best known for their heavy use of vocoder and synthesizer blended with emo/metalcore music and rave beats.

<i>Triangle</i> (Diaura album) 2014 studio album by Diaura

Triangle is the third studio album by Japanese visual kei band Diaura, released on 26 November 2014, by Ains. It debuted on Oricon's weekly chart at the 33rd place, and at the 2nd place on the Indies albums chart. Two singles were released prior to the album, in July 2014, titled "Silent Majority" and "Horizon". A third single titled "Blind Message" was also released on 3 September, however, the song was not included in the album, only its music video was featured on the DVD extra of the B type release.

<i>My Resistance</i> 2016 EP by Diaura

My Resistance is the third EP album by Japanese visual kei band Diaura, released on 16 December, 2016, by Ains. It was 27th on the Oricon weekly chart, and third on the Indies chart. It was released in two versions: the last song on A type is "Criminal Beast", while it is "Daybreaker" on B type. A type also includes a DVD with the music video of "Tōsaku-shō Resistance (倒錯症レジスタンス)" and the making-of footage of the MV. The band appeared live on Niconico on 19 November to promote the release of the album.

Royz is a Japanese visual kei rock band formed in 2009 in Osaka. Currently, Subaru is on vocals, Kuina is on guitar, Koudai is on bass and Tomoya is on drums and they are on the label B.P Records.

"Datenshi" is the thirty-ninth single from the Japanese rock band Buck-Tick. It was released on January 29, 2020, by the label Lingua Sounda in three editions: a regular edition and two limited editions. The main track, "Datenshi", in a different version, is on the album Abracadabra.

Kizu (キズ) is a Japanese visual kei rock band, formed in 2017 by Lime on vocals, Reiki on guitar, Yue on bass, and Kyonosuke as a drummer. They have released nine singles and two live albums.

Jiluka is a Japanese visual kei metal band initially formed in May 2013 but restarted in February 2015. The group are an independent band on the label DPR Japan, consisting of members Ricko, Sena, the main songwriter of the songs, Boogie and Zyean. They have released 7 albums and 6 singles so far. It was ranked at the 12 position on the JRock News's top 15 visual kei and Japanese rock artists of 2019. Jiluka is described as "Modern metal visual kei".

Hazuki (葉月) is a Japanese singer, songwriter and musician, known for being the vocalist and main songwriter of visual kei band Lynch.

Kiryū (己龍) is a Japanese visual kei metal band founded in 2007 with the concept of "Japanese terror" and "painful nostalgia". Formed by vocalist Mahiro Kurosaki, guitarists Takemasa Kujō and Mitsuki Sakai, bassist Hiyori Isshiki and drummer Junji Tokai, each member is represented by a color. They have been part of the independent label B.P Records since 2009.

Acme is a Japanese visual kei rock band active since 2017, with the concept of "a delinquent boy in an imaginary world". Formed by Chisa, Shogo, Rikito and Hal, they have toured several times across United States, being the only visual kei band to complete a full US tour in 2021.

"Undying" is the twenty-third single by Japanese rock band The Gazette, released on April 27, 2016 in two editions. In Japan, it was released by Sony Music and in other regions by JPU Records.
