Mello is an unincorporated community in Yuba County, California. It is located on the former Southern Pacific Railroad line 4.5 miles (7.2 km) north-northeast of Marysville, [2] at an elevation of 72 feet (22 m).
In law, an unincorporated area is a region of land that is not governed by a local municipal corporation; similarly an unincorporated community is a settlement that is not governed by its own local municipal corporation, but rather is administered as part of larger administrative divisions, such as a township, parish, borough, county, city, canton, state, province or country. Yuba County is a county in the U.S. state of California. As of the 2010 U.S. Census, the population was 72,155. The county seat is Marysville. Yuba County is included in the Yuba City, California Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Sacramento–Roseville, California Combined Statistical Area. The county is located in the state's Central Valley region along the Feather River.
