Melowy is an Italian children's book series and comic book series with a target demographic of girls 7-12 [1] written by Danielle Star. The books chronicle the tale of unicorns with special wings, as well as magic abilities, [2] during their stay at the Castle of Destiny and Castle of Chance [3] boarding schools.
Danielle Star wrote the script for the first 12 books before submitting them to Alessandra Berello, publisher manager at Atlantyca Entertainment, who she began frequently chatting with on E-mail, [4] [5] including to discuss and approve the characters' clothes and accessories.

A one-wave, 12-figure [14] toyline was released in Italy in 2015 that predated both the books and the comics. [15] [16]
The Sunday Telegraph (Sydney) wrote about Dreams Come True that "With bright coloured illustrations", "the Melowy series will appeal to new independent readers.", [17] while Kirkus Reviews wrote that while formulaic, "the audience it’s carefully calculated to appeal to will probably adore it." [18] First Comics News wrote about The Test of Magic that it was a "younger reader book but can be enjoyed by any age.", and that the characters were "adorable" and "sickly sweet", [19] Booklist wrote that it would appeal to "Fans of whimsical, effervescent comics", [20] while BSCKids wrote that "The characters are fun" and that the "coloring and artwork really bring out their personalities". [21] Cairns Post listed The Night of Courage as a "Good Reads" in its Northern Family section. [22] [23]
The first book (Il sogno si avvera) was number 8 on the kids literature list of La Stampa Tuttolibri's publishing of Italian BookScan weekly bestsellers for 27 March through 2 April 2016. [24] The following week, it was placed 4th in Corriere della Sera's kids literature sales charts for 11–17 April 2016. [25]
In addition to Italian and English, the books have been translated to French, [26] Spanish, Catalan, [27] Basque, [28] Portuguese, Polish, Russian, and Greek. However, only the Italian version received all 15 books.
Neil Richard MacKinnon Gaiman is an English author of short fiction, novels, comic books, graphic novels, audio theatre, and a screenwriter. His works include the comic book series The Sandman and the novels Good Omens, Stardust, Anansi Boys, American Gods, Coraline, and The Graveyard Book. In 2023, he starred as the voice of Gef the talking mongoose in the black comedy film Nandor Fodor and the Talking Mongoose.
The Sandman is a comic book written by Neil Gaiman and published by DC Comics. Ed Greenwood is a Canadian fantasy writer and the original creator of the Forgotten Realms game world. He began writing articles about the Forgotten Realms for Dragon magazine beginning in 1979, and subsequently sold the rights to the setting to TSR, the creators of the Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game, in 1986. Titania is a fictional character, a comic book faerie published by DC Comics. She first appeared in The Sandman #19, and was created by Neil Gaiman and Charles Vess. She is inspired by and implied to be the same as Titania as the faerie queen in William Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Nick Magazine is a defunct American children's magazine inspired by the children's television network Nickelodeon. Its first incarnation appeared in 1990 and was distributed at participating Pizza Hut restaurants; the version of the magazine only saw two issues. The magazine returned in Summer 1993 with all types of content, primarily humor and comics. Originally published on a quarterly basis, it switched to bi-monthly with the February/March 1994 issue. Jim Salicrup is an American comic book editor, known for his tenures at Marvel Comics and Topps Comics. At Marvel, where he worked for twenty years, he edited books such as The Uncanny X-Men, Fantastic Four, Avengers and various Spider-Man titles. At Topps, he edited books such as Bram Stoker's Dracula, X-Files and Zorro.
The Smurfs is a Belgian comic series, created by cartoonist Peyo. The titular creatures were introduced as supporting characters in an already established series, Johan and Peewit in 1958, and starred in their own series from 1959. Thirty-nine Smurf comic albums have been created, 16 of them by Peyo. Originally, the Smurf stories appeared in Spirou magazine with reprints in many different magazines, but after Peyo left the publisher Dupuis, many comics were first published in dedicated Smurf magazines, which existed in French, Dutch and German. A number of short stories and one page gags have been collected in comic books next to the regular series of 39. By 2008, Smurf comics have been translated into 25 languages, and some 25 million albums have been sold.
Stefan Petrucha is an American writer of comics and young adult fiction. He has written graphic novels in the X-Files and Nancy Drew series, as well as science fiction and horror. For 13 years, from 1994 to 2007, Petrucha wrote stories for Disney comic books published by Egmont.

Papercutz Graphic Novels is an American publisher of family-friendly comic books and graphic novels, mostly based on licensed properties such as Nancy Drew, the Hardy Boys, and Lego Ninjago. Papercutz has also published new volumes of the Golden Age-era comics series Classics Illustrated and Tales from the Crypt. In recent years they have begun publishing English translations of European all-ages comics, including The Smurfs and Asterix. They publish several titles through their imprint Super Genius.
The Loud House is an American animated television series created by Chris Savino that premiered on Nickelodeon on May 2, 2016. The series revolves around the chaotic everyday life of a boy named Lincoln Loud, who is the middle child and only son in a large family of 11 children. It is set in a fictional town in southeastern Michigan called Royal Woods, based on Savino's hometown of Royal Oak. The series was pitched to the network in 2013 as a two-minute short film entered in the annual Animated Shorts Program. It entered production the following year. The series is based on Savino's own childhood growing up in a large family, and its animation is largely influenced by newspaper comic strips.
