Memories & Dust is the debut studio album by Australian singer-songwriter, Josh Pyke. It was released in March in 2007 and peaked at number 4 on the ARIA Charts and was certified platinum in 2021.

At the J Awards of 2007, the album was nominated for Australian Album of the Year. [1]

At the ARIA Music Awards of 2007, the album was nominated for five awards, with Pyke winning ARIA Award for Best Adult Contemporary Album, Pyke and Connolly winning ARIA Award for Producer of the Year and Connolly winning ARIA Award for Engineer of the Year. [2]

Bernard Zuel from Sydney Morning Herald described the music as evocative and moving and Pyke as "inventive" and "know[ing] how to construct music and lyrics into a form that is more than the sum of its parts [4]

Noel Mengel from Courier Mail found that the songs had a "logical sequence," "each leading to the next and illuminating those around it." He praised "Someone Else's Town" for its "handsome string arrangement" and "Fed and Watered" as "bright and bouncy." [5] Kathy McCabe from Daily Telegraph admired the melody and detail of the lyrics and music and described "Vibrations in Air" as "goose-bumpingly beautiful." [6]

Casino Twilight Dogs is the third studio album from Australian band Youth Group, released in Australia by Ivy League Records on 15 July 2006, then in the United States by ANTI- on 30 January 2007. The album came several months after the Australian chart success of the band's cover of Alphaville's "Forever Young", which had been recorded for the soundtrack of the US TV drama The O.C.. "Forever Young" had received extensive radio airplay and become a platinum-selling, No. 1 single in Australia, its success taking the band by surprise as they mixed Casino Twilight Dogs. The song, although different in style to their self-written material, was added as the album's final track.

Wayne Connolly is an Australian producer/engineer and musician. Throughout the 1990s, Connolly played in Sydney band, The Welcome Mat, with whom he released a series of critically acclaimed albums and EPs on the Waterfront Records, Regular Records and id/Mercury labels. In 1994, he formed Knievel with Tracy Ellis and Nick Kennedy, who went on to release five albums and a series of singles on various labels in Australia, the United States and Japan including Murmur, Citadel Records and Albert Music. Knievel achieved high rotation on Triple J, toured locally and abroad, and supported acts such as Luna, Teenage Fanclub, Death Cab for Cutie and The Pernice Brothers.

Dream Days at the Hotel Existence is the sixth studio album by Australian rock band Powderfinger, released by Universal Music on 2 June 2007 in Australia, 19 November 2007 in the United Kingdom, and 11 November 2008 in the United States on the Dew Process label. It was released in Australia with a limited edition bonus DVD, titled Powderfinger's First XI, featuring eleven music videos spanning the band's career, from the first single, "Tail" to "Bless My Soul", the band's latest single before the release of the album. A collector's edition, including a CD and DVD, was released on 18 April 2008.

"My Happiness" is a song by Australian rock band Powderfinger. It was released via record label Universal Music Australia on 21 August 2000 as the first single from the band's fourth album, Odyssey Number Five. Powderfinger frontman Bernard Fanning wrote the lyrics for "My Happiness" as a reflection on the time the band spent touring to promote their work, and the loneliness that came as a result. It was inspired by his love of gospel and soul music. The rest of the band are co-credited with Fanning for composing the track. Despite its melancholy mood, "My Happiness" is considered by many to be a love song, a suggestion Fanning regards as mystifying.
