The modern pentathlon is an Olympic multisport that currently consists of fencing, freestyle swimming, equestrian show jumping, laser pistol shooting, and cross country running. Equestrian will be replaced by a form of obstacle course racing at the 2028 Summer Olympics.

She is a four-time individual women’s world sabre champion, six-time Olympic medalist and the most decorated Ukrainian Olympian in history. Anna Vitalievna Bashta is a Russian-born Azerbaijani fencer. She won the silver medal in the women's sabre event at the 2022 World Fencing Championships held in Cairo, Egypt. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics, in Women's sabre. She has been ranked #1 in the world in women's sabre in 2022.

Liza Pusztai is a Hungarian sabre fencer. She is a two-time world champion in the team sabre and a two-time European Championships silver and bronze medallist. She is also a junior world champion and two-time Youth Olympics gold medalist, having won the girls' sabre event and the mixed team event at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics.

Alexandra Ndolo is a German-born left-handed épée fencer who switched allegiances to fence for Kenya in 2022. She qualified to be Kenya's only fencer at the Paris Olympics in 2024.
The British Fencing Championships are held annually to determine the British champion. The Championships are currently held at the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield or the Lee Valley Athletics Centre. These championships are not to be confused with a new Championship introduced in 2023 called the British Open Championships, where any athlete can compete and are not restricted to British athletes.
