Mercer Mall is a shopping mall serving Bluefield, West Virginia. Opened in 1980, the mall features J. C. Penney, Belk, Roses, Rural King, and Hobby Lobby, plus 70 other stores. It is managed by Ershig Properties.

History

When it first opened in 1980, Mercer Mall had Sears, J. C. Penney, Montgomery Ward, Stone & Thomas, and Leggett (now Belk). [3] The Montgomery Ward closed in 1987, and the space became a Hills, [4] which was sold to Ames in 1999. [5] Stone & Thomas was sold to Elder-Beerman in 1998, but Elder-Beerman opted not to continue with the Bluefield store. Instead, Belk purchased the store and took the space for men's wear and home goods. [6]

After Ames closed in 2000, the space became Carolina Pottery, which closed in 2006 and became Steve & Barry's. [7] The space then became Roses in 2009 following the closure of Steve & Barry's. [8] Belk later closed the second store, which became a Hobby Lobby in 2014. [9] Also in 2014, Sears announced the closing of the Mercer Mall store. [10] Rural King opened in the former Sears space at the mall on February 18, 2017. [11]

The mall opened in 1972 and is the only enclosed mall within thirty-five miles of its region. It features more than ninety tenants, including a food court, a movie theater and three anchor stores: Belk, JCPenney, and Dunham's Sports which opened in November 2009. The mall is owned by Washington Prime Group.

Staunton Mall

Staunton Mall is a shopping mall in Augusta County, Virginia, United States. It is slightly outside the city limits of Staunton, Virginia. Opened in 1968 as Staunton Plaza, it originally featured J. C. Penney, Montgomery Ward, Woolworth, and Safeway as its major stores. An expansion plan between 1985 and 1987 enclosed the formerly open-air property while adding Leggett as a third department store and renaming the property to Staunton Mall. The mall underwent a number of anchor store changes throughout the late 1980s and early 1980s: Safeway became an outlet store for Sears, then Goody's and Gold's Gym, while Woolworth was converted to Stone & Thomas and then to Peebles, and Montgomery Ward became Steve & Barry's. The mall lost many inline stores throughout the 21st century, and has passed through several owners. Belk is among the few remaining stores.

The Port Charlotte Town Center is a mall in Port Charlotte, Florida. The mall serves Port Charlotte and the neighboring communities of North Port, Englewood, and Punta Gorda. The anchor stores include Beall's, Dillard's, J. C. Penney, Macy's, and Regal Cinemas. All anchors have one floor.

Charleston Town Center Shopping mall in Charleston, West Virginia

Charleston Town Center is an enclosed shopping mall in downtown Charleston, West Virginia. One of the largest enclosed malls in the United States to be located in a downtown shopping district, it has comprised more than 130 tenants on two levels at its peak, in addition to food court on a partial third level. Several vacancies in later years have led to conversion of large portions into office space. Popular full-service restaurants include Chili's Bar & Grill, the Chop House, Outback Steakhouse and Tidewater Grill. The only remaining anchor store is JCPenney. The mall is owned by U.S. Bancorp.

Regency Square Mall (Jacksonville)

Regency Square Mall is an enclosed shopping mall in the Arlington area of Jacksonville, Florida, United States. Opened in 1967 and once one of the most successful malls in the country, the mall now features around 20 stores, including one anchor store, Dillard's Clearance Center, Impact Church, and a food court. It is owned by Namdar Realty Group and Mason Asset Management.

University Mall (Carbondale, Illinois)

University Mall is a shopping mall in Carbondale, Illinois, United States. Opened in 1974, it originally featured J. C. Penney and Sears as its major anchor stores, the latter taking the place of a Britt's discount store which never opened for business. A 1980 expansion added a new wing with a Meis department store, which was sold to Elder-Beerman in 1989, while Sears relocated to Illinois Centre Mall and was replaced by Montgomery Ward. Further expansion in 1991 added several new tenants, along with a food court and the anchor stores Famous-Barr and Venture Stores. The latter closed in 1993 and was converted to K's Merchandise Mart; Elder-Beerman and Montgomery Ward also closed in the 1990s, with the former undergoing conversion to offices and the latter being subdivided for a theater and smaller stores. Famous-Barr converted to Macy's in 2006, and K's Merchandise Mart closed in 2007. The mall has seen several closures in stores throughout the 21st century; remaining mall tenants include JCPenney, Maurices, Ross Dress for Less, Lane Bryant, Ulta Beauty, Old Navy, Bed Bath & Beyond, Illinicare Health, and SIH Medical Group. Albany Mall

Albany Mall is an enclosed shopping mall in Albany, Georgia. Opened in 1976, it features Belk, JCPenney, Dillard's, Old Navy, and Books-A-Million as its anchor stores. It is managed by Aronov Realty.

Sandusky Mall is an indoor shopping center located in Perkins Township, south of Sandusky, Ohio. It is located on the east side of US 250, north of I-80/I-90 and SR 2. It is the only major shopping center within 45 miles (72 km). The mall comprises more than 70 stores. The anchor stores are JCPenney, T.J. Maxx, Books-A-Million, and Hobby Lobby. Rumored anchor stores coming to the mall as a part of the redevelopment occurring include Home Goods, and Ross Dress For Less. There is currently a partially vacant anchor remaining: Elder Beerman, which was partially filled by Shoe Dept. Encore when they relocated from their former spot by American Eagle Outfitters. JCPenney had previously operated a store in downtown Sandusky. It is managed by Cafaro Company of Niles, Ohio.

Greenwood Mall is an enclosed shopping mall in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Opened in phases between 1979 and 1980, the mall comprises 100 stores, including three anchor stores: Belk, Dillard's, and J. Adrian Mall Shopping mall in Adrian, Michigan, US

Adrian Mall is an enclosed shopping center serving Adrian, Michigan. It opened in 1970 and features two open anchor stores, Hobby Lobby and Dunham's Sports, with Ollie's Bargain Outlet coming soon and two vacant anchors last occupied by Elder-Beerman and JCPenney. The mall's interior was condemned for various issues, including roof problems and water damage, on June 16, 2020.

Ohio Valley Mall

Ohio Valley Mall is an enclosed shopping mall in Richland Township, Ohio outside St. Clairsville. It was opened in 1978 and was developed by the Youngstown, Ohio-based Cafaro Company, who continue to own and manage it. The mall's anchor stores are Boscov's, Dunham's Sports, Marshalls, Michaels, Ulta Beauty, AMC Theatres, Tilt Studio, and Five Below and contains over 120 stores. There are 2 vacant anchor stores that were once Sears and Macy's.

Concord Mall is an enclosed shopping mall serving Elkhart, Indiana. It opened in 1972 and is anchored by JCPenney, Hobby Lobby and Martin's Supermarkets.

Forest Mall was an enclosed shopping mall in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Opened in 1973, the anchor stores are Kohl's and Staples. There are 3 vacant anchor stores that were once Younkers, Sears, and JCPenney. It closed in January 2020.

Miami Valley Centre Mall is an enclosed shopping mall in Piqua, Ohio, United States. Opened in 1988, the mall's anchor stores are Dunham's Sports and JCPenney. There are 2 vacant anchor stores that were once Sears and Elder-Beerman. The mall also has a Comfort Inn.
