Michael Calvo Villamil (born 26 December 1977) is a Cuban triple jumper.

His personal best jump is 17.30 metres, achieved in February 1997 in Havana. The result places him tenth on the all-time Cuban performers list, behind Yoelbi Quesada, Lázaro Betancourt, Aliecer Urrutia, Yoandri Betanzos, Alexander Martínez, Jorge Reyna, Yoel García, Pedro Pérez and Arnie David Giralt.

Pedro Calvo is a popular Cuban singer sometimes affectionately nicknamed Pedrito, meaning "little Pedro". He is most famous for his time with Los Van Van, one of Cuba's premier dance bands, which he joined in 1974. During the late 1990s, Calvo formed part of the famous lead singing trio of Los Van Van along with Mayito Rivera and Roberto Hernández. These three singers alternated singing the lead and backing parts on Los Van Van tracks. Some of the more notable tracks that Calvo sang the lead part on during this period are El Negro Está Cocinando, Mi Chocolate and La Fruta. Calvo was also the lead singer on Que le den Candela and Sandunguera, two famous Los Van Van tracks from an earlier period. Calvo's trademark look is a thick black moustache and wide-brimmed white hat.

The Cuba men's national volleyball team represents Cuba in international volleyball competitions and friendly matches, governed by Federación Cubana De Voleibol. The 2000 Ibero-American Championships in Athletics was the ninth edition of the international athletics competition between Ibero-American nations which was held at the Estádio Célio de Barros in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on 20 and 21 May. With a total of 308 athletes, the number of competitors was the lowest since 1990. The Spanish team was much smaller than previous delegations as most of the Spaniards chose to focus on the 2000 Sydney Olympics instead. The Long Branch Cubans were a professional baseball team that played from 1913 to 1916. It was the first U.S. minor league baseball team composed almost entirely of Cubans. Several players, including Dolf Luque and Mike González, went on to play in the major leagues. The Cubans played in Long Branch, New Jersey from 1913 to 1915, except for the first half of the 1914 season, when they played in Newark, New Jersey. Ricardo Norberto Calvo Manzano is a Cuban male volleyball player. He was part of the Cuba men's national volleyball team at the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship in Poland. He played for Villa Clara. He didn't play in the Rio Olympics in 2016, because he was one of six players of the Cuban national volleyball team that were suspected of committing aggravated rape in July 2016 in Tampere, Finland. In September 2016, he was sentenced to five years in prison.
