Michael Nikolay (born 13 December 1956) is a retired German gymnast. He competed at the 1976 and 1980 Summer Olympics in all artistic gymnastics events and won a bronze and a silver medal with the East German team, respectively. Individually he won two bronze medals in the pommel horse at both Games; he also finished fourth on the horizontal bar and on the parallel bars in 1980. [1]

At the world championships, he won a gold medal in the pommel horse in 1981 and a bronze in the team competition in 1978. [2] He also won a European silver in the pommel horse in 1977. [3]

He won two more gold medals in the floor exercise at the 1979 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships and 1981 European championships. He missed the 1984 Summer Olympics due to their boycott by East Germany and competed at the Friendship Games instead, winning a gold on the floor and a silver in the team competition.

Ulf Hoffmann is a retired German gymnast. He missed the 1984 Summer Olympics due to their boycott by East Germany and took part in the Friendship Games instead, winning a silver medal in the team competition. He won another silver medal with the East German team at the 1988 Summer Olympics. His best individual result at those Games was 13th place on parallel bars. He won three bronze medal at the world championships in 1985 and 1987 (team) and European championships in 1985. After retiring he moved to Basel, Switzerland where he coaches female gymnasts.

Wolfgang Thüne is a German former gymnast. He competed at the 1972 Summer Olympics in all artistic gymnastics events and won a bronze medal with the East German team. Individually his best achievement was seventh place in the horizontal bar. He won two more bronze team medals at the world championships in 1970 and 1974 as well as individual silver in the horizontal bar in 1974. At the 1975 European championships in Bern, he fled to West Germany with the help of his rival Eberhard Gienger. In 1977 he won the national all-round title in West Germany competing for TuS 04 Leverkusen. After retirement he worked as a gymnastics coach at the same club.

Marian Rizan is a retired Romanian artistic gymnast. He competed at the 1988 and 1992 Olympics with the best individual result of 9th place on the pommel horse in 1988. He placed third in this event at the 1987 European and fourth at the 1989 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.
