Michael Spence (born May 20, 1978) is an American former athlete who competed in long-distance running events. [1]
Raised in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, Spence attended East Stroudsburg High School and was a District 11 cross country champion, before taking up the steeplechase as a specialty while a varsity athlete at Princeton University. He won the 1997 USA junior steeplechase title and trained in Utah under Olympics coach Chick Hislop. [2]
Spence was a silver medalist for the United States in the 3000 m steeplechase at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, behind countryman Joshua McAdams who passed him in the final lap. [3] At the 2008 U.S. Olympic trials in Eugene, Oregon, Spence missed out on a place for Beijing after coming in sixth position. [4]

Anthony Famiglietti(nickname: Fam; born November 8, 1978, in Medford, New York) is an American track and field athlete who competes professionally for Skechers Performance and Reckless Running. He was formerly sponsored by Adidas. He has competed for the U.S. in the 3000 meter steeplechase at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games and the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. In December 2019 he ran a World Record treadmill mile of 3:55. He has the first known recorded sub-4 mile ever run on a treadmill. In January 2020 he followed up his mile with a World Record 2 mile run of 8:24 at the Endurance Exchange hosted by USA Triathlon. He is current training to make his 5th Olympic trials and 3rd Olympic team. In spring 2020 he is hoping to become the fourth human being ever to break 4-minute mile on the track at 40 years old.

Michael Fred Phelps II is an American former competitive swimmer. He is the most successful and most decorated Olympian of all time with a total of 28 medals. East Stroudsburg is an historic train station built by the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad in 1856. The station served as the local stop for both East Stroudsburg and Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. The depot, recently known locally as the Dansbury Depot for the restaurant that used the building, is located on Crystal Street in East Stroudsburg. Service to East Stroudsburg ended on January 6, 1970, when the Erie Lackawanna Railway discontinued the Lake Cities. A proposal is currently in place to extend NJ Transit service to a rebuilt East Stroudsburg station. In spring 2021, Amtrak announced plans for potential New York–Scranton route. It is currently used by some of Steamtown National Historic Site's excursion trains.
