Mickey Conn (born October 9, 1971) is an American football coach and former player who is currently the co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach at Clemson University. He has served in various assistant coaching roles at Clemson since 2016, including as defensive assistant in 2016, safeties coach from 2017 to 2020 and special teams coordinator and safeties coach in 2021.
Conn played college football at the University of Alabama as a defensive back from 1990 to 1994. Prior to his tenure at Clemson, Conn held a head coaching position at Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia and two assistant coaching positions at South Gwinnett High School in Snellville, Georgia and at the University of Alabama.
Conn walked on to play defensive back for Gene Stallings at Alabama from 1990 to 1994 eventually getting a scholarship. He redshirted his freshman season and lettered from the 1992 national championship season to 1994.
Conn began his career in coaching at his alma mater Alabama in 1996 where he worked as a graduate assistant under his former head coach, Gene Stallings. He was retained in 1997 under Mike DuBose’s new staff also as a graduate assistant.
In 1998 and 1999 Conn coached at his former high school, South Gwinnett High School in Atlanta. For the next 16 years Conn was the head coach at Grayson High School [1] where he compiled a 137 and 48 record. [2] [3]
Conn joined Clemson's coaching staff under his former teammate Dabo Swinney in 2016 as a defensive assistant. [4] In 2017 he was promoted to safeties coach. [5] For the 2021 season he was given the additional responsibility of being the team's special teams coordinator. [6]
On December 14, 2021, Conn was promoted to co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach, alongside Wes Goodwin, replacing Brent Venables after his departure to become the head coach at the University of Oklahoma. [7]
Conn is the uncle of Appalachian State Mountaineers quarterback Chase Brice. [8] Conn and his wife Halie have two children.
Conn has been lifelong best friends with Alabama pastor,Jay Stewart. Conn credits his success with Grayson High School to Stewart who was the Chaplain for several years.

Cecil W. "Hootie" Ingram is a former American football player, coach, and college athletics administrator. He played for the University of Alabama from 1952 to 1954 and was selected as an All-SEC defensive back in 1952. He worked as an assistant football coach at several colleges, including the University of Georgia and University of Arkansas before receiving a head coaching assignment at Clemson University from 1970 to 1972. He was an administrator with the Southeastern Conference in the 1970s and later served as an athletic director at Florida State University (1981–1989) and Alabama (1989–1995).
South Gwinnett High School (SGHS) is a public high school for students in grades 9–12. The school is located in Snellville, Georgia, United States. It is part of the Gwinnett County Public Schools system, one of the 15 largest public school systems in the country. South Gwinnett is home to about 2,800 students. The school pulls from much of Southeastern Gwinnett county, including areas of Snellville and rural residential areas of Loganville.
Patrick Nix is an American football coach and former player. He played college football as a quarterback at Auburn University from 1992 to 1995. Nix served as the head football coach at Henderson State University from 1999 to 2000, compiling a record of 3–19.
Louis G. Spanos is an American football coach who was the defensive coordinator for the UConn Huskies football team, a position he held until the start of the 2022 season. He was a defensive quality control and assistant linebackers coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1995 to 2009, the linebackers coach for the Washington Redskins from 2010 to 2011, and the defensive coordinator for the UCLA from 2012 to 2013. Robert Chukwudumebi Nkemdiche is an American professional football defensive tackle for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He attended the University of Mississippi for three years until declaring early for the 2016 NFL Draft where he was picked 29th overall by the Arizona Cardinals. He played for the Cardinals for three years from 2016 to 2018, the Miami Dolphins in 2019, and the Seattle Seahawks in 2021.

William Hall Napier is an American football coach currently serving as head coach at the University of Florida. From 2017 until 2021, he served as head coach at the University of Louisiana, amassing a 40–12 record in four seasons with three consecutive 10+ win seasons and two seasons finishing in the AP Poll, both firsts in the programs' history. Prior to Louisiana, he served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Arizona State University in 2017.

In 2018, he signed with the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League as an undrafted free agent out of college. From 2019–2021, he played cornerback for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL). In 2022, he joined his former Clemson defensive coordinator and current Oklahoma head football coach Brent Venables' inaugural Sooners coaching staff as a defensive graduate assistant.
