From August 2004 to October 2006, Gemstone Publishing published a smaller, digest-sized series of Mickey Mouse Adventures, alongside Donald Duck Adventures. The bi-monthly book was 128 pages and usually contained three or more longer stories that featured Mickey and various other Disney characters. The issue numbering of the original Disney Comics series was ignored, the digests being numbered issue 1 through 12 (issues 13 and 14 were announced, but cancelled).

The series were released as compiled collector's editions of the single issues of the run of each comic book title, while also in conjunction with the same issues being released in trade paperback collections. After a total of ten hardcover volumes the four lines of the Timeless Tales series were cancelled, ending with the Walt Disney's Comics and Stories Vault - Vol. 1 in mid 2018.

There were three versions of the title – two promotional giveaway magazines published from 1933 to 1935, and a newsstand magazine published from 1935 to 1940. The publication gradually evolved from a 16-page booklet of illustrated text stories and single-page comic panels into a 64-page comic book featuring reprints of the Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck comic strips.
