Mideeye Political Association (Somali : Urur Siyaasadeedka Mideeye) is the political party in Puntland. [1]
On 19 July 2020, a political association named Mideeye was established with a focus on unity and purpose in Puntland. The organization showcased political influence through diverse high-profile participants, including former ministers from previous Puntland administrations. Founders, regional representatives, religious leaders, and women's groups participated in the inaugural conference. [2]
During the conference's second day, Dahir Haji Khalif, a former Puntland Minister, was elected as the Chairman of Mideeye. The Central Committee also elected Najah Mohamud Ali as the First Deputy Chairman, Abdallah Sheikh Ahmed Yusuf as the Second Deputy Chairman, and Abshir Omar Huruse as the Secretary General, and also became the first political party in Puntland to appoint a woman to a senior political leadership role. Three former Puntland presidential candidates also became members of Mideeye, The organization aimed to win the Puntland Presidency, maintaining strong relations with the Federal Government of Somalia and Federal Member States. [4]
Mideeye was officially recognized on August 4, 2023, as a political party. They condemned the Puntland executive and legislature's alleged unconstitutional actions to amend the constitution. The party also criticized delays in filing the matter with the constitutional court and accused the President's 1 August speech of misrepresentation and cover-up. [5]
Mideeye, the largest opposition party in Puntland, urged the international community to avoid supporting an unapproved election and called on traditional elders to unite for Puntland's governance. They also advised society, opposition leaders, and stakeholders to resolve the political crisis's threat to the state's stability. [6]

The city has experienced growth and development, hosting government institutions and providing essential services to its residents. Garowe is situated in a territory with a semi-arid climate, and its economy is influenced by trade, livestock, and agriculture.
The Majeerteen, alternately known as MohammedHarti, are a Somali sub-clan part of the Harti branch of the Darod clan. Traditionally, they inhabit extensive territories in the Bari, Nugaal, and Mudug regions of Somalia, spanning from Bosaso to Garacad, mainly in Puntland state. Additionally, Majeerteen populations are present in southern towns such as Kismayo.
The Leelkase or Lailkase or Lelkase is a major subclan of the Tanade Darod clan. The term "Leelkase" is a nickname, which translates as "farsighted, mindful, smart or intelligent”
The Harti, (Somali: Harti), are a Somali clan that trace their lineage back to SalehAbdi (Harti). They are a sub-clan of the larger Darod clan. Notable sub-clans within Harti include the Majeerteen, Dhulbahante, Deshiishe and the Warsengeli. They predominantly reside in the apex of the Horn of Africa and its surrounding regions. Furthermore, in the southern territories, the clan's settlements span both sides of the Kenya-Somalia border.
Ali Khalif Galaydh was a Somali politician. He was the Prime Minister of the transitional Somalia administration from 8 October 2000 to 28 October 2001. Galaydh had extensive experience in public policy, diplomacy, public administration, and business. He taught these subjects at public universities in the United States. Additionally, Galaydh was the president of the Khaatumo state. In 2017, he signed an agreement with the Somaliland government which stipulated the amendment of Somaliland's constitution, this would’ve promoted peace and stability throughout the regions of Sool, sanaag and cayn.
The Osman Mahmoud, are a Somali sub-clan part of the Majeerteen Harti branch of the larger Darod clan. The sub-clan has a rich tradition and history which include the sultanates of Majeerteen and Hobyo.
